Previously, on February 21, Mnet has revealed the full lineup of “Queendom 2”. The “Queendom 2” lineup consists of K-pop solo singer Hyolyn, a former member of K-pop group SISTAR, and group idols such as LOONA, VIVIZ, Brave Girls, Kep1er, and WJSN.
Further, on March 22 and 23, Mnet has released the “Queendom 2” Opening Show performances of all six participants.
Opening Show of QUEENDOM 2 Lineup
VIVIZ
In the opening show, the Kpop group VIVIZ has amazed their fans with their dancing skills combination, which is powerful yet elegant. They used the ‘Intro’ of their debut mini-album for their opening show performance.
LOONA
With the song “Satellite,” LOONA members danced in a dream-like concept, and each member took turns as the center.
Brave Girls
Brave Girls danced with a fresh performance and powerful choreography with their iconic song remix “Rollin.” In addition, they have successfully captivated the audience with their Michael Jackson movements.
WJSN
WJSN (Cosmic Girls) performed with their hits remix “Secret” and “Save Me, Save You.” Aside from the magical concept, they earned the viewers’ attention with their unique choreography and outfit transformations.
Kep1er
Kep1er chose their song “See the Light” on their opening show stage and gained many compliments from the viewers.
Hyolyn
Last but not least, Hyolyn showed her strong vocal skills by singing a snippet of “9LIVES,” then showed off her powerful dancing skills with her hit song “Dally.”
“QUEENDOM 2” Episode 1: Rules, Prize, Theme, Rivals, and Performances
On March 31, the first episode of the most anticipated survival show, “Queendom 2,” has officially premiered. The second season of Queendom will be hosted by Girls’ Generation Taeyeon and comedian Lee Yong Jin as the “grandmaster” and “queen manager,” respectively.
During the introduction session, the participants learned the rules and what to prepare to win “Queendom 2.” The participants also revealed their chosen rivals among participants for the first round.
The participants will go through several rounds of competition. Further, if any participant stays in the last position for two weeks in a row ahead of the final, they will be eliminated. And finally, the final winner of “Queendom 2” will get the grand prize for the comeback show that will be broadcast worldwide.
Theme and Rivals
The theme for the “Queendom 2” round 1 is named “Representative Hit Song.” Therefore, the participants should perform their most representative hit songs. Unfortunately, LOONA could not join the first round of filming because the members tested positive for COVID-19.
Further, they were asked to choose one challenger among the participants. As a result, Brave Girls chose VIVIZ as their rival. Then, VIVIZ chose Hyolyn as their rival. Meanwhile, Hyolyn chose Kep1er as her rival. Then, Kep1er selected LOONA as their rival, and LOONA picked WJSN as their rival. Then, it was revealed that WJSN picked Hyolyn as their rival and left Brave Girls as the only group that was not selected as a rival by other groups.
First Performances of VIVIZ and Hyolyn
VIVIZ became the first group who took the stage with their synchronized and beautiful performance. They performed GFRIEND’s hits “Time for the Moon Night” and “Rough.”
After VIVIZ’s performance, Hyolyn took the stage with her powerful charms and sang SISTAR’s hit “Touch My Body.”
