On September 30, Coldplay official social media released the official music video (MV) for their historical collaboration with BTS, “My Universe”. The video portrayed Coldplay and BTS as two bands from different planets who rebelled against the “No Music” rule and held a space concert with another guest called “Supernova 7”.

1. My Universe Official Music Video Delivers Chris Martin Personal Concept

Firstly, “My Universe” is a very personal song for Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin. He portrayed BTS as a representative of Earth, coming together to build a new universe. This message was conveyed well in the “My Universe” official music video.

2. BTS Portion Shot in a Stage in Seoul

While most parts of the music video was taken in Barcelona, the BTS part was shot on a stage in Seoul, South Korea.

3. Coldplay is from Planet Floris

BTS x Coldplay “My Universe” official MV portrayed both groups coming from different planets. Coldplay’s planet is called Planet Floris, and the scenes were taken from an abandoned swimming pool complex located less than an hour drive from downtown Barcelona.

4. BTS Planet is Called “Calypso”

On the other hand, in “My Universe” official MV, BTS came from a different planet called “Calypso”. According to the designer’s note, Calypso’s design is based on a crumbling alien shipping port. We can see how its giant rusting structure disappearing into the ominous sky.

An amazing band from a whole different universe with their diverse members: Blaze, Eko, the tiny Loop & Switch, Kasio Mars, Dorean Delorean, and the beautiful Angel Moon!
