Bad news, Kpoppers! The rising tension in ADOR VS NJZ (NewJeans) contract dispute has escalated even more, and NJZ’s activities might be in further danger. Both sides have released powerful statements accusing each other of retaliations, causing more drama in this controversial case. Join us as we dive deeper into what happened in the latest contract dispute update between ADOR and NJZ (NewJeans).
ADOR Allegedly Banned NJZ (NewJeans) from All Activities
After leaving ADOR and rebranding the group to NJZ, NewJeans members must now face a greater danger that may cost them all their music activities.

On March 6, parents of NJZ members posted a lengthy statement on @njz_pr’s Instagram account with more shocking updates. The post emerged a day before the first hearing regarding ADOR’s injunction request, which is supposed to happen today, March 7.
Previously, ADOR filed an official injunction to maintain the company’s status as the group’s agency and prohibit NJZ (NewJeans) from signing advertising contracts.
According to the parents’ post, ADOR had allegedly been attempting to block NJZ (NewJeans) entertainment activities completely. The company reportedly planned to do it by expanding the scope of its injunction request to the court.
Through this request, not only is the company trying to ban the members from their advertising activities, but ADOR has now blocked NJZ from performing all their music-related activities.
This means that—according to ADOR—NJZ members are not allowed to write/compose, perform, or sing any song as well as complete any other related activities without ADOR’s permission, like what they’ve been doing until today.
Statement from NJZ (NewJeans) Members Parents on ADOR Contract Dispute
“On February 11, 2025, ADOR expanded its injunction request, seeking to prohibit not only NJZ’s advertising activities but also all music-related activities—including songwriting, composing, performing, and singing—as well as all other entertainment activities.
This happened right after we heard that Chairman Bang Si-hyuk tried to pressure the organizers of the Complex Con. Since the attempt to cancel the performance failed, we believe ADOR expanded their request as a way to retaliate.
Just a few days ago, ADOR consistently made statements about NJZ (NewJeans) independent activities. However, ADOR never revealed that its injunction request was actually aimed to ban all entertainment activities.
They act like they’re only focused on advertising issues or preventing confusion. However, in reality, they’re asking the court to completely ban NJZ from working in entertainment.
This is an attempt to intrude on NJZ’s freedom to work. Not only that, but ADOR also avoids public criticism by keeping its real intentions hidden.
NJZ exists because of music. If our music is taken away, we have no reason to exist. From the start, ADOR’s goal has been to block all our activities.

Through the legal process, we want to prove that ending our contract was the right decision. We also hope no one else has to endure the same unfair treatment we have faced.”

ADOR on Contract Dispute: “We Simply Want NewJeans Back”
Once the news that ADOR tried to ban NJZ (NewJeans) activities circulated widely, the company immediately released its own statement.
Instead of banning NJZ (NewJeans) activities, ADOR believed they were simply trying to get them to return to the company. Since ADOR believed that the members were still under their valid and active exclusive contract, the company wanted NJZ to continue their activities with them.
Along with the clarification, ADOR also denied claims of pressuring Complex Con organizers. The company also stated that they would clear all misunderstandings during the court hearing.
“ADOR decided to expand its legal request, which was originally about keeping its status as NewJeans’ agency and stopping them from signing independent ad contracts.
This is because, while the case is still ongoing, NewJeans has been announcing new songs and planning big overseas performances.
This isn’t about stopping their activities. Instead, ADOR wants to clarify that NewJeans should continue their career with ADOR and under their contract.
As we’ve said, ADOR has never pressured event organizers; this legal action is not meant as revenge.
In court tomorrow, ADOR will try to clear up any misunderstandings and confirm that it is still NewJeans’ official agency.”

Will NJZ Music Activities Be Really In Danger?
With both sides standing their ground, the fate of NJZ (NewJeans) hangs by a thread. If ADOR succeeds in their contract dispute against NewJeans, NJZ may face a complete halt in their music activities and career—no new songs, no performances, and no creative freedom. This could be a devastating blow to the group that has been fighting for their independence.
But if NJZ prevails, it will mark a groundbreaking moment in K-pop history—an artist group breaking free from their agency and taking full control of their career. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the outcome of this legal war could change the future of not only NJZ but also the entire industry.

Finally, the courtroom showdown begins today, and fans around the world are holding their breath. Will the members of NJZ be silenced, or will they prove that their fight for independence was the right decision all along?
