The talented siblings also announced their official fandom name: ‘AKKADEMY,’ a combination of “AKMU” and “academy.” As their agency explains, the fandom name means an organization that is the center of art.
The Duo’s Philanthropy Commitment
Meanwhile, continuing their tradition of charity, the sibling duo showcased their generosity by donating 141 million Won. YG Entertainment revealed that AKMU allocated the funds to Pureun Asia, Severance Hospital, and the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Development Institute. Each organization received 47 million won, representing the meaningful date of AKMU’s debut on April 7.
The contribution will serve various social causes. As reported, it includes the establishment of ‘AKMU Love Forest’ to combat climate change and prevent desertification in Mongolia. The fact that AKMU spent their childhood in Mongolia influences the decision to allocate funds to projects benefiting the region.
Furthermore, support will be extended to low-income patients battling severe and incurable diseases. It goes along with psychological aid for isolated youth who face challenges reintegrating into society. The donations are also intended to support programs that enhance interpersonal relationships.
