CEO Min Heejin Delivered Statement at Press Conference Related to ADOR vs HYBE Conflict and Drama
On April 25 at 3 PM KST, ADOR CEO and NewJeans producer Min Heejin conducted a press conference. She made this move after HYBE announced to have decided to formally take the conflict and drama with ADOR to legal lawsuit by suing Min Heejin for “breach of trust.”

However, does it really mean that Min Heejin is acting crazy? Or was it her way to gain attention so the public would listen to her?

Crucial Facts You CANNOT Behind the Emotional Outburst
1. BTS Copying Min Heejin: NOT TRUE!
First of all, ADOR CEO Min Heejin clarified in her press conference statement that she never said BTS had copied her. Therefore, the circulating rumors that she accused Bang PD of copying her when he created BTS were not true.
“When HYBE said I did all this because of money, it’s not true. Everything that HYBE is saying is a lie. I’ve never said BTS copied me.”
Min Heejin.
2. No Takeover Plan and No “Breach of Trust”
Secondly, CEO Min Heejin denied accusations of a takeover attempt. She said she only had 20% shares of the company, which is basically impossible to do. What she did, instead, was only complain about her job and her bosses as a corporate worker, just like any employee would.
“I have never tried to take over ADOR. As an employee, you complain about your job and your boss. have no idea where the ‘usurper’ belief came from.”
Min Heejin.
The legal representative of Min Heejin then explained that unlike what HYBE said, what Min Heejin did was not a “breach of trust”.
“The claim of ‘breach of trust’ is not true. When you say ‘breach of trust,’ it’s when an action actually leads to damaging the company. There was no incident where Min Heejin tried to diminish the company’s value.
Besides, you cannot really ‘plot’ to breach trust. This just doesn’t count as that. I’m actually looking forward to the report they’re filing to the police.”

3. Min Heejin Left SM Entertainment Due to Different Visions: Bang PD Recruited Her for BigHit Entertainment
Thirdly, Min Heejin explained that he left SM Entertainment due to differences in the belief between her and Lee Soo Man. Therefore, she decided to leave due to their opposite visions.
“I tried to expand my work and didn’t quit even though it was hard. But his (Lee Soo Man) work and mindset changed with time, and I became disappointed.
But I always told him, ‘I’ll tell you this because I think of you as my father.’ In the end, I told him that I would leave him because I wanted to do something new, and SM Entertainment was not the place where I could make it happen.”
Min Heejin.
After that, Bang PD approached Min Heejin. The HYBE founder then reportedly sweet-talked ADOR CEO Min Heejin to join—at the time—BigHit Entertainment. Amid her statement at the press conference related to the HYBE x ADOR conflict, CEO Min Heejin displayed the KakaoTalk chat with Bang PD.
“But just two days later, I got a call from a headhunter. They told me ‘someone’ wanted to see me but didn’t tell me who. It was [HYBE founder] Bang Si Hyuk.
Bang Si Hyuk told me how he ‘became a successful fan’. He also said that he would treat me better than a board member and told me that he wanted to fulfill my creative potential.
I was thankful, and I told him that I wouldn’t let him down. He told me to build the ‘Min Heejin world.’ I thought that we could create a synergy together.”
Min Heejin.
4. BigHit’s Girl Group: Bang PD Refused Because of BTS’ fans, ARMY
Along with the statement, Min Heejin revealed that the original plan between her and Bang Si Hyuk PD was to create a girl group for BigHit.
However, Bang PD refused because he believed there would be issues. Since BigHit has more female fans because of BTS, these fans will be jealous of the girl groups.
Therefore, he suggested buying Source Music, which had many female trainees at the time.

5. GFRIEND’s Disband Has Nothing to Do with Min Heejin
Furthermore, ADOR CEO Min Heejin explains in her press conference statement that she had nothing to do with GFRIEND’s disbandment. Source Music already had GFRIEND so debuting HYBE’s first girl group under the label was impossible.
“Bang Si Hyuk wanted to benchmark Billie Eilish, but I wasn’t sure. Then Covid-19 came, so it became so difficult.
Source Music had GFriend. Disbanding that group had nothing to do with me. Let me just emphasize that.”
Min Heejin.
6. The Original Plan: BTS’s Girl Group, Min Heejin’s Girl Group is NewJeans
Next, the ADOR CEO explained how Bang Si Hyuk PD wanted to brand the first girl group as “BTS Agency’s girl group” and “Min Heejin’s girl group.”
The only trainee she recruited from Source Music was Minji. Then, Hanni was the second trainee she recruited after this new brand idea.
Afterward, they developed the brand to be a “BTS girl group” and recruited Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
And so, it was the beginning of NewJeans’ nickname as BTS’ little sister. Everything began as a concept between Bang PD and Min Heejin.
7. HYBE Demands LE SSERAFIM to Debut Before NewJeans
Then, everything fell apart after COVID-19. According to Min Heejin, HYBE and Source Music CEO, Park Ji Won and So Sung Jin demanded in June or July 2021 that LE SSERAFIM be HYBE’s first girl group.
Therefore, Min Heejin was upset because everything changed from the original plans. Min Heejin also claimed she did not know about HYBE recruiting Kim Chaewon and Sakura.
“Soon after Park Ji Won joined, he and Source Music founder So Sung Jin demanded that HYBE’s first girl group would have to be a new girl group from Source Music. They must also include Sakura and Kim Chaewon.
I got really upset. All the (NewJeans) trainees came to me because they wanted to be in a Min Heejin girl group, not a Source Music girl group (due to the brand). But then they told me they were going to debut that group first.
I told them I was going to quit and hold a press conference, but Park Ji Won then asked me what he could do to fix the situation.”
Min Heejin.
8. Min Heejin Did Not Steal NewJeans from Source Music
Due to this decision, the parents of NewJeans’ trainees became upset. HYBE never explained and did not apologize to the parents, so they became furious.
Not only that, but since HYBE debuted LE SSERAFIM first, NewJeans’ parents were afraid their children might not debut. No girl group from the same company ever debuted in such a close period.
Therefore, Min Heejin decided to handle things on her own. Despite HYBE’s demand to entirely monopolize her creation, she decided to debut NewJeans under ADOR.
After all, it was impossible for NewJeans to debut under the same company only a while after LE SSERAFIM debuted.
“I told them I’d take these girls because I wanted to help them debut. I wasn’t stealing them.
I thought that making ADOR would be for the good of the girls and the shareholders. But Bang Si Hyuk said he wouldn’t let me do it unless the company held a 100 percent stake.
Although, it was my branding and my creation.”
Min Heejin.

9. Bang PD Asked Min Heejin to Defeat aespa
What’s more shocking was Bang Si Hyuk PD’s plan for the new girl group was to defeat SM Entertainment’s aespa.
Min Hee Jin: "Bang Si-hyuk asked me, 'You can beat aespa in December, right?' But that was never my goal." Min stands up. "I thought that he was a really generous person, but I found that he was different on the outside from how he was on the inside." pic.twitter.com/FJelolOAf6

And when NewJeans was a success, Bang PD asked Min Heejin sarcastically whether she was “having fun.”

10. Min Heejin Claimed to Have Never ‘Asked’ BTS to Go to Military
Amid her frustration with the conflict and drama with HYBE, ADOR CEO Min Heejin clarified in her press conference statement that she never asked BTS to go to the military.
“When did I ever ‘ask’ BTS to go to the military?”
Min Heejin.
Previously, HYBE stated that Min Heejin participated in shamanic coaching for her management.
Before the emergency press conference of Min Heejin, HYBE claims that Min Heejin was involved in 'shamanic management' by relying on shamans.

11. ILLIT is the Exact Copy of NewJeans, According to Min Heejin
ADOR CEO Min Heejin then pointed out why she believed ILLIT was the exact copy of NewJeans. It was the trigger that started all the conflict and drama between HYBE and ADOR.
“All I can think is that they’re trying to kill NewJeans. They’re making our thing old.
The posters for NewJeans and [ILLIT’s label] Belift Lab are exactly the same. The hanbok pictorial never existed before us, then ILLIT just copied it exactly.
We debuted with the Chanel event. HYBE never got that advert for us. Then ILLIT did it with Acne. They just took the formula. Is this not purely intentional?
Why did you use our choreography? I asked them, and they didn’t answer us. Our choreographers are so pissed.”
Min Heejin.
Oh this is a bit…😭😭

? this is just one of many. look at their choreo, listen to their music. The aesthetic. Im not saying new jeans OWNS these. It's the fact that they reinvented it and illit's trying to ride the wave with new jeans. NJ PAVED the way for this concept in KPOP. just admit it. pic.twitter.com/sZXTPoYWo7
