On October 17, BTS j-hope completed his discharge ceremony at the 36th Infantry Division’s Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province. The BTS rapper-dancer had enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April last year and had served as an instructor at the training battalion.
During this special event, BTS j-hope was welcomed by a large number of reporters. He smiled brightly as he emerged from the guard post, standing in front of the press, and greeted everyone with a salute.
“I’m finally discharged in good health, and I couldn’t be more thankful. The support from the fans really helped me get through my military service safely.

Being an instructor for 18 months meant a lot of marching, and I saw so many people in Wonju who would always greet us and cheer us on. It was incredibly touching, and honestly, I don’t even know how to put those emotions into words.
