On October 17, BTS j-hope completed his discharge ceremony at the 36^th Infantry Division’s Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province. The BTS rapper-dancer had enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April last year and had served as an instructor at the training battalion.

During this special event, BTS j-hope was welcomed by a large number of reporters. He smiled brightly as he emerged from the guard post, standing in front of the press, and greeted everyone with a salute.

“I’m finally discharged in good health, and I couldn’t be more thankful. The support from the fans really helped me get through my military service safely. 
Being an instructor for 18 months meant a lot of marching, and I saw so many people in Wonju who would always greet us and cheer us on. It was incredibly touching, and honestly, I don’t even know how to put those emotions into words.
For the past 18 months, soldiers have been working hard to protect the country and making real contributions. If the public keeps showing this kind of support, our efforts will be even more meaningful. I’m so grateful for all the encouragement, love, and support – it truly means the world to me.”
