May 2025 Kpop Group Brand Reputation Rankings

The Korean Brand Business Research Institute analyzed 57,279,872 brand big data points of Kpop boy groups from April 10 to May 10, showing a 9.33 percent decrease from April’s 63,170,845 data points. According to the analysis results, BTS, SEVENTEEN, BIGBANG, TWS, and THE BOYZ dominated the top five spots in the May 2025 rankings.
For girl groups, the institute analyzed 56,077,037 brand big data points of Kpop girl groups from April 11 to May 11. Compared to 56,098,416 girl group brand big data in April, it slightly decreased by 1.62 percent. As a result, BLACKPINK, IVE, TWICE, Red Velvet, and aespa secured the top five positions.

#1 BTS
Although the group is on a break, BTS members continue to dominate headlines with their unmatched influence and achievements.
In the link analysis, the institute identified “prove,” “sold out,” and “support” as the group’s top related terms, while in the keyword analysis, they found “Jin,” “Jimin,” and “Jungkook,” as the group’s most popular keywords. In addition, the group achieved a positive score of 92.02 percent in the positivity-negativity analysis.
Although still enlisted, Jungkook recently became the first K-pop soloist to spend 102 weeks on Spotify’s Global Artists Chart. Moreover, he was also dubbed the “Sold Out King” when the Kijima Takayuki beanie he wore at an aespa concert sold out within hours. Additionally, Jin’s solo tour RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR (2025) also sold out instantly upon release on April 29. His solo tour will start on June 18, following his comeback with new album “ECHO” on May 16. Meanwhile, Jimin talked with his fans about his post-military plans, like growing his hair, wearing earrings, and trying perfumes.

BTS maintained their top position for the third consecutive month with a brand reputation index of 7,811,108, marking a 2.54 percent increase from their brand reputation index of 7,617,606 in April.
SEVENTEEN held second place with a brand reputation index of 5,729,258 for May, dropping 7.67 percent from their April score of 6,205,121.
BIGBANG claimed third place with a brand reputation index of 3,381,072 this May. Despite increasing rankings, the group’s brand reputation index slightly decreased by 0.80 percent from their April index of 3,408,197.
TWS skyrocketed to fourth place with a brand reputation index of 3,135,194, marking an impressive 85.77 percent surge from 1,687,676 in April.
Rounding out the top five, THE BOYZ achieved a brand reputation index of 2,819,185, falling by 7.53 percent from 3,048,818 in April.

May 2025 Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings
#1 BLACKPINK
Despite the members’ busy personal schedules, BLACKPINK’s popularity remains unstoppable.
In the link analysis, the institute identified “participate,” “pre-sale,” and “record” as the group’s top related terms. Meanwhile, the keyword analysis revealed “Jennie,” “Rosé,” and “concert” as the group’s most popular keywords. Additionally, the quartet achieved a positive score of 91.98 percent in positivity-negativity analysis.
Rosé’s participation in COLDPLAY’s concert and OST “Messy” for Brad Pitt’s new movie “F1” thrilled fans. Jennie set a new record when her “like JENNIE” music video became the first 2025 Kpop MV to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. In addition, BLACKPINK’s 2025 World Tour pre-sale tickets for their two-day concert (July 5 and 6) at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium sold out instantly.

BLACKPINK claimed the top position with a brand reputation index of 5,420,364. The group’s brand reputation index slightly increased by 0.05 percent from 5,417,733 in April.
IVE dropped to second spot, with their index falling 10.36 percent from 5,785,035 in April to 5,185,979 in May.
TWICE surged to third place with a brand reputation index of 5,185,979 in May, marking a 41.47 percent increase from 3,679,751 in April.
The quintet group, Red Velvet, skyrocketed to fourth place with an impressive brand reputation index of 3,422,031 for May. It rose by 55.58 percent from 2,199,559 in April.
Rounding out May’s top five, aespa achieved a brand reputation index of 3,192,945, showing a 16.54 percent decline from 3,825,793 in April.
