After releasing their anthology album ‘PROOF’ and celebrating their 9th anniversary, BTS announced a shocking update. During their 2022 BTS FESTA ‘Real BTS Dinner,’ they discussed taking indefinite hiatus as a group. The decision is not out of the blue. Instead, the septet has their considerations and reasons.
BTS Members to Move Out of House and Take Hiatus this 2022
During the dinner, RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook sat casually talking and laughing together. It took around 20 minutes in the an-hour-long 2022 BTS FESTA ‘Real BTS Dinner’ to reveal BTS’ plans, including the possibility of indefinite hiatus.
BTS has planned to take hiatus as a group
There was one moment when RM opened up with, “Anyway, this is our 9th anniversary.” And it seemed everyone at the table knew where the conversation would go. They instantly became more serious.
RM continued, “Season 1 of BTS was originally up until ‘ON.’ We were planning to do a grand world tour with ‘ON’ going to places we haven’t been, such as India and Australia, but when we started the promotion, for ‘ON,’ COVID-19 started. And we had to cancel our world tour.”
The septet seemed a little hesitant to talk about the topic. Suga added, “We weren’t able to talk about this for two years, so it was a bit frustrating. We weren’t able to talk about this. And if we made a certain choice, we might not have been here anymore. Those lingering possibilities. We thought, ‘Let’s just go to the Grammys since we were nominated,’ and when we didn’t win, we tried for it again. We were all exhausted from that process.”
BTS Will Move Out from the House
As this June is the 9th anniversary of BTS, the members must have gone through many things and lived together for more than nine years. And they felt that they had lived together for too long.
“I lived with Namjoon for almost 13 years.”Suga
The septet then went nostalgic for what had happened during those years they lived together. Apparently, the contract of BTS house was nearly ended, and they had to move out of that house, which recorded their bittersweet memories. They continued talking about how different their lives would be when they moved out of the house and lived separately.
BTS will take indefinite hiatus as a group starting from 2022
The dinner went on, and Suga casually said that BTS would take a real hiatus this time. When the topic came out, all members stopped eating and became more serious.
RM revealed that he was also confused about what kind of lyrics he should write for the group, “I don’t know what kind of direction our group has to take.”
Suga agreed with RM that the most challenging part as a BTS member is writing lyrics and thinking about what kind of message they want to convey.
Therefore, the septet decided to take a break and take some time to think without upsetting ARMY. The decision made is for the sake of the group and fans as well.
BTS realized that ARMY is the one who has made their name big and that for every decision they make, they have to consider how ARMY will feel. However, V believes that ARMY will support BTS, whatever the decision is, as ARMY is considerate and caring.
“They (ARMY) know us. We know us.”Jimin
BTS will focus on solo works
“We could focus on our solo work this time. And later when we gather again as a group that synergy will be like no other.”J-Hope told V
So, does it mean ARMY will really have KTH1, JJK1, Hope World 2, and other solo mixtapes of BTS members in 2022? Or perhaps, more than mixtapes, each member will release solo album? Will we see the debut of actor Kim Seokjin? Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
One thing that we know we are going to have BTS V and Wooga Squad in “In The SOOP: Friendship Trip” spin off in July 2022.
ARMY, how do you feel about BTS taking hiatus as a group this 2022? Will you miss them and wait for them to be back as a group?
“It’s not like we’re breaking up.”Suga
