What is Blackpink?

Blackpink (Hangul: 블랙핑크; commonly stylized as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK) is a KPop girl group under YG Entertainment. Debuted on August 8, 2016, their two lead singles on their debut single album Square One charted at number one and two on the Billboard World Digital Songs Chart.

BLΛƆKPIИK Achievements

The first music show performance of Blackpink was on SBS' Inkigayo. In just thirteen days after their debut, they won first place in Inkigayo. As a result, they broke the record for the shortest time for a girl group to win on a music program after debut. Blackpink has earned several awards, such as the Asia Artist Awards, Melon Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and Gaon Chart Music Awards. No wonder that they became the best new KPop group of 2016 on Billboard. In 2018, there was a collaboration between Blackpink and Dua Lipa (English singer, songwriter, and model): Kiss and Make Up. Besides, in 2020, they released a promotional single Awesome in collaboration with Samsung for Galaxy A Series.

Fandom:

"BLINK," a portmanteau of "Black" and "Pink" and founded on January 14, 2017. It means “we start with BLΛƆKPIИK and end with BLΛƆKPIИK.”
