“Don’t Leave Yet” Intriguing Concept and Puzzling Music Video

Eric Nam, Rabitt (Jason Yik Nam Wu), Boy Matthews, and Christina Galligan are geniuses who wrote “Don’t Leave Yet” lyrics. The song resonates with those trying to fill an inner void. While listening to this dance song, there is the feeling of being understood. The singer also shared on his Instagram,

“It’s always “one more drink,” “one more spot,” or “one more hour” before the inevitable long lonely way back home. This song is for anyone who’s ever felt the need to fill an emptiness inside.”

Alongside releasing the new single, Eric Nam also shared the puzzling music video for the track, which Eric Nam himself directed. Produced alongside creative team 37th Degree (BTS, NewJeans) and choreographed by world-class choreographer Kyle Hanagami (BLACKPINK, CNCO, Justin Bieber), the video is set at a decadent dinner party complete with lavish food and glamorous guests.

Eric Nam enjoys the dance at a dinner table as an audience. However, at some point, Eric becomes disconnected from the party around him and appears to seek an escape by drowning himself in his drink.

“‘Don’t Leave Yet’ is my take on a dance song. I wanted to flip the typical dance song on its head and thought about those situations where you or your friend don’t want to go home and stay out dancing instead. Maybe you want to get your mind off things in your life, and this song is saying – we can just dance it all out and stay here as long as you’d like. I’d like to think it’s my version of an uplifting “I’m there for you” kind of moment, but in a fun dance song.”

“House on a Hill” Album Release

“Don’t Leave Yet” follows the release of lead single “House on a Hill,” the title track from Eric’s forthcoming album. Last month, Nam enlisted Em Beihold for a special new version of “House on a Hill.” “House on a Hill” was met with critical praise upon release and was included on ROLLING STONE’s “Songs You Need To Know” list.

Eric’s highly anticipated new album, House on a Hill, will be released on September 8. The album will include collaborations with UK-based artists HONNE & Oh Wonder and longtime collaborator & producer, Rabitt, who is musically supervising the album. House on a Hill is available for pre-order or pre-save.

Following the album release this fall, Eric will embark on his House on a Hill World Tour, which spans over 80 shows across North America, Latin America, the UK, Europe, and Australia / New Zealand. Tickets for the North American, Latin America, UK, and Europe legs are on sale now. For full tour routing and additional information, please visit ericnam.com.

“Don’t Leave Yet” Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I know you wish that you could call ’em
Found somethin’ else to fill the space
A high that never leaves you fallin’
A moment you don’t have to chase

[Pre-Chorus]

If it’s a dark, lonely road
In the car, goin’ home
Watchin’ stars on the coast
Without someone to hold

[Chorus]

You don’t need to leave yet
‘Cause there’s a reason
You just wanna dance (Dance)
You could shake your feelings
‘Cause there’s a reason
You just wanna dance (Dance)

[Post-Chorus]

All of those neon lights
Ain’t gonna dry your eyes
But if that’s what you need toni-i-i-ight
You don’t need to leave yet
Hеartbreak’s the reason
You just wanna, just wanna, just wanna

[Verse 2]

Keep on movin’, keep on spinnin’
‘Til thе music drowns it out
Let the someone you been missin’
Become a stranger in the crowd

[Pre-Chorus]

If it’s a dark, lonely road
In the car, goin’ home
Watchin’ stars on the coast
Without someone to hold

[Chorus]

You don’t need to leave yet
‘Cause there’s a reason
You just wanna dance (Dance)
You could shake your feelings
‘Cause there’s a reason
You just wanna dance (Dance)

[Post-Chorus]

All of those neon lights
Ain’t gonna dry your eyes
But if that’s what you need toni-i-i-ight
You don’t need to leave yet
Heartbreak’s the reason
You just wanna, just wanna, just wanna dance

[Refrain]

Just wanna, just wanna, just wanna dance
Just wanna, just wanna

[Pre-Chorus]

If it’s a dark, lonely road
In the car, goin’ home
Watchin’ stars on the coast
Without someone to hold

[Chorus]

You don’t need to leave yet
‘Cause there’s a reason
Heartbreak’s the reason
You just wanna, just wanna, just wanna
