fromis-9 Released ‘Midnight Guest’ with the Pressure of Being the ONLY Girl Group of HYBE

fromis_9 just made their comeback with the 4th mini album ‘Midnight Guest’ on January 17. While Flovers hope that HYBE will give a good promotion for the girls, here’s how fromis_9 members feel about the pressure of being the ONLY girl group of HYBE. Moreover, fromis_9 is optimist to get more wins with ‘Midnight Guest.’

fromis_9 Mini Album ‘Midnight Guest’

‘Midnight Guest’ is apparently the second comeback of fromis_9 after signing to Pledis Entertainment on August 2021. It’s such a quick comeback after releasing their previous album, ‘Talk & Talk’ in September 2021.

“We returned after four months. We couldn’t forget the memories we made through the love we received for ‘Talk & Talk,’ and we got so much good energy that we were able to make a comeback quickly.”

fromis_9 set a new record for the group by surpassing 120,000 pre-orders of the ‘Midnight Guest’ album prior to the release. Saerom, Hayoung, Gyuri, Jiwon, Jisun, Seoyeon, Chaeyoung, Nagyung, and Jiheon feel that people love them more, which makes them want to work harder on this album. fromis_9 members are positive that they’ll gain more wins with ‘Midnight Guest.’

It’s undeniable that fromis_9 has been gaining more attention and love from Kpop lovers since joining Pledis Entertainment. Their previous album ‘Talk & Talk,’ which was the first album after signing to Pledis Entertainment, was well received by global Kpop fans. fromis_9 even took their first win on a music show since their t=debut with ‘Talk & Talk.’

fromis_9 feels the pressure of being the ONLY girl group in HYBE

After the disbandment of GFRIEND (under Source Entertainment), fromis_9 (under Pledis Entertainment) became the ONLY girl group under HYBE Labels. Being so, fromis_9 definitely feels the pressure on their shoulders.

“Of course, we feel a sense of pressure at having such a huge agency’s name attached to us, but we tried to think of the pressure as a driving force to make fromis_9’s color stronger.”

Asked about the changes since fromis_9 worked under Pledis Entertainment, the members feel the teamwork gets stronger and they can achieve more wins.

“[The founder of Pledis] had been producing us from our debut until now, but now there’s a lot of wide support in other areas too, so it feels like we’re working together with him in heart and mind as well. And it made us ambitious about making a fresh start.”

 “Producing director [PD] Han Sung Soo worked on this album just as he worked with us ever since our debut. When ‘Talk & Talk’ got a good reception after our move, the members’ teamwork became stronger and we became more excited to make our next comeback.”

Meanwhile, Flovers hold a high expectation from fromis_9 after signing to Pledis Entertainment, one of HYBE Labels affiliates. They wish Saerom, Hayoung, Gyuri, Jiwon, Jisun, Seoyeon, Chaeyoung, Nagyung, and Jiheon will have more proper promotions.
