Here’s Han So Hee Explanation on “My Name” Bed Scene, It’s NOT What You Think

“Han So Hee was tricked into an unexpected bed scene by the production team?!” –was probably what you’re thinking after reading some statements from the media. However, actress Han So Hee delivers a complete explanation through her agency regarding her bed scene in “My Name”, and it’s really NOT what you think.

Han So Hee Previous Statement on Her Bed Scene in Netflix “My Name”

In a recent interview, Han So Hee stated that she only found out about her bed scene with Ahn Bo Hyun during the filming process of Netflix “My Name”. However, she also mentioned that the scene was vital for Ji Woo’s character development.

“I heard about the scene while we were in the middle of filming.

At first, I wondered, ‘Will this be okay?’ I thought it might distract from the overall storyline and become a distraction for Ji Woo’s overall goals. But after discussing it with the writer and director, I interpreted it as a scene where Ji Woo could show a more humane side of herself.” .

According to Han So Hee, she also believed that the fundamental notion of the bed scene itself is not merely based on love between Jeon Pil Do and Yoon Ji Woo. Instead, it is a scene that supports Yoon Ji Woo’s character to embrace her human side and her desire to live again.

“Rather than this scene happening because Pil Do love Ji Woo so much, it’s a scene to help Ji Woo learn how to feel more human. There’s a line that says, ‘I want to live like a human.’ It was part of her desire to live again, not something that was getting in the way of her revenge.”

The Bed Scene Statement Raised Controversies

Following her statement regarding the “My Name” bed scene, many people started questioning the professionalism of the production team. They assumed that Han So Hee had no idea that there would be a bed scene during the filming and that the production team just decided the scene to happen all of a sudden. Worse, there were even assumptions that Han So Hee was forced into doing the bed scenes.

In addition to the above assumptions, netizens also criticized that the bed scenes were not that necessary. And even if they were, the production team should have notified the actress before she agreed to take the role.

Han So Hee Explanation from the Agency

Due to these unexpected criticisms, Han So Hee’s 9ato Entertainment agency decided to release a confirmation on November 2. The statement clarified Han So Hee previous statement on her bed scene in “My Name” with further explanation.

“My Name” Bed Scene First Mentioned During Pre-Production Stage

According to the agency, both the actors and the production team had already discussed during the pre-production stage that there would possibly be a bed scene for the sake of Ji Woo’s character development. Therefore, the original script remained incomplete, and they all decided to continue filming based on the character’s emotional flow.

“The specific scene was first discussed during the pre-production stages. Indeed, there was a conversation about the possibility of bed scene filming to show Ji Woo’s emotional change. However, the script was still incomplete at the time, so the discussion resulted in a decision that the bed scene filming will be based on the character’s emotional flow.”

Carried Out with Consent from Actors and Staff

Then, the agency mentioned that, apparently, all team members concluded that the scene would show Ji Woo’s humane side. Besides, it would also be excellent support for Ji Woo’s emotional change for the following events. Therefore, they all decided to do it with consent from all the actors and staff members.

“After discussing that the scene was necessary to show the humane side of Ji Woo and would also explain the amplitude of Ji Woo’s emotions, we proceeded with filming the scene after obtaining consent from both the actors and staff members. The director and writer also discussed and thought a lot about how to express the scene.”

Han So Hee’s Statement Explained

Furthermore, regarding Han So Hee’s previous statement, the agency clarified that it did NOT mean she was forced into doing the scene. The precise explanation for Han So Hee’s statement about the “My Name” bed scene refers to the final decision. Not the bed scene itself.

“The phrase ‘I found out in the middle of filming’ means that the final decision for the scene itself was made during filming. And it was after much consideration and discussion. In fact, Han So Hee had further explained the intentions and concerns from the director and writer, as well as her consent.

Therefore, we would like to inform everyone that the scenes were filmed after sufficient consultations between the writer, director, production team, as well as Han So Hee herself.”

Han So Hee and Her Agency’s Request

With these answers and statements, Han So Hee’s agency also requested the public to refrain from making suspicions and false assumptions.

“We wanted to address this allegation directly because we know that the production team and the actors had put and endured a lot of thoughts and concerns regarding this specific scene during the filming.

That is why we request you to please refrain from making suspicion and false assumptions in the future about this issue. Thank you. “
