INFINITE Sunggyu Tested Positive for COVID-19, Agency Confirmed

After SEVENTEEN and Lovelyz Jisoo, another unfortunate COVID-19 report has emerged. INFINITE Sunggyu has been tested positive for COVID-19 after vaccination and the agency confirmed the report.

INFINITE Sunggyu Tested Positive for COVID-19 After Vaccination

Double H TNE agency confirmed that INFINITE Sunggyu has been tested positive for COVID-19 on June 27 morning. Sunggyu had received regular COVID-19 tests because of Gwanghwamun Sonata musical preparation.

Furthermore, INFINITE Sunggyu had also received vaccination with the Jensen vaccine on June 10. However, on June 27, he is tested positive for COVID-19.

INFINITE Sunggyu Will Suspend All Activities Despite Being Asymptomatic

After being confirmed to be a COVID-19 positive patient, INFINITE Sunggyu will suspend all his activities and follow all the required guidelines from the authorities.

Also, INFINITE Sunggyu is asymptomatic and has no issues regarding his physical condition. However, all staffs and employees who came in contact with Sunggyu would be tested immediately.

Double H TNE Agency Official Statement on INFINITE Sunggyu COVID-19 Test

On June 27, INFINITE Sunggyu’s Double H TNE agency, released an official statement as follows:

“Hello, this is Kim Sunggyu’s agency Double H TNE.
On the morning of June 27, we were notified that our artist Kim Sunggyu was tested positive for COVID-19.
Sunggyu was regularly tested for COVID0-19 every week to prepare for the musical Gwanghwamun Sonata. He also received the Janssen vaccine on June 10 but still tested positive today.
Kim Sunggyu was asymptomatic and had no abnormalities in his condition. All relevant staff and employees that have had schedules overlap or had contact with Kim Sunggyu immediately proceeded to COVID-19 testing.
Kim Sunggyu will suspend all activities and follow the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. Staff members who have been in close contact with Kim Sunggyu will self-quarantine regardless of the results.
We will do our best to abide by the quarantine management by cooperating with the government policy and we will do our best to manage our artists. We apologize for causing concern. Thank you.”

MBC’s “Extreme Debut: Wild Idol” Will Test All Related Crews Following Sunggyu’s COVID-19 Confirmation

Before tested positive for COVID-19, INFINITE Sunggyu recorded a session with MBC’s Extreme Debut: Wild Idol on June 23 and 24. Moreover, the production team had required all cast to submit COVID-19 test result at least four days before the recording. According to the show, everyone had shown negative results, including Sunggyu.

Now that INFINITE Sunggyu has been confirmed to be positive patient of COVID-19, all production crew who involved will undergo tests and self-quarantine.

“Before filming, all staff and cast completed the COVID-19 test and finished filming with everyone testing negative. With the mission conducted outdoors, the cast and crew filmed at a distance of about 3m from Kim Sunggyu.
After hearing the news, all production crew that have overlapped with Sunggyu will be tested and self-isolated according to the quarantine guidelines. In addition, all cast that was in the same space as Kim Sunggyu will also be tested today. The future production schedule will be adjusted according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.”
