IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung Tested Positive for COVID-19, How is Ahn Yujin?

Another heartbreaking news comes from Kpop industry. One of ex- IZ*ONE members, Jang Wonyoung, tested positive for COVID-19 and Starship has released an official statement regarding this matter. Previously, both Wonyoung and Yujin had close contact with an external staff member who was positive with COVID-19.

IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung Positive With COVID-19

After having contact with a positive COVID-19 external staff, both Wonyoung and Yujin went through PCR tests.

The test showed that IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung was positive, fortunately, Ahn Yujin tested negative for COVID-19.

Although Ahn Yujin tested negative, both she and Wonyoung plan to postpone all activities and do self-quarantine.

Starship Entertainment statement

“Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.

On August 28, Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung immediately proceeded with a PCR test after being notified that they crossed paths with an external staff member that was confirmed positive with COVID-19.

On the morning of August 29, Ahn Yujin tested negative, and Jang Wonyoung tested positive for COVID-19. Currently, Jang Wonyoung is taking necessary measures according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. Ahn, who tested negative, plans to stop all scheduled activities and go into self-quarantine for preemptive measures.

We ask your understanding for causing concern, and we will continue to follow the guidelines of the quarantine authorities and do our best for the health and safety of our artists and staff.”
