Lee Jung Jae Tops January 2025 Drama Actor Brand Reputation Rankings

To determine the drama actor rankings for January 2025, the Korean Business Research Institute extracted 79,350,883 data points from 50 drama actors who appeared in dramas airing from December 9, 2024, to January 9, 2025. Compared to the brand big data of 62,421,649 in December 2024, the number increased by 31.34 percent.

Further, the institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of consumer behavior by using the brand reputation algorithm with four keys: participation, media, communication, and community indexes. From the analysis results, the institute measured the actors’ brand value and determined the top Korean drama actor brand reputation rankings for January 2025.

As a result, actors Lee Jung Jae, Choo Young Woo, Kim Nam Gil, Lim Ji Yeon, and Yoo Yeon Seok dominated the top five popular Korean drama actors in January 2025.

1. Lee Jung Jae

Actor Lee Jung Jae, who returns for another round of survival games in  “Squid Game 2,” topped the drama actor rankings this January. The comeback star achieved an impressive brand value of 5,459,256, with the following breakdown:

• Media Index: 1,512,838
• Communication Index: 1,046,236
• Community Index: 2,026,308

In link analysis, the institute found “immersive,” “amazing,” and “endure” to be the most popular terms associated with the actor. Meanwhile, in the keywords analysis, the institute identified “Seong Gi-hun,” “Squid Game,” and “Netflix” as the most popular keywords. Additionally, in the positivity-negativity analysis, the actor gained a positive score of 92.67 percent.

2. Chu Young Woo

Rookie actor Chu Young Woo, who attracted viewers with his irresistible charms in the historical drama “The Tale of Lady Ok,” ranked second this month. The actor’s brand value increased from 1,593,242 in December 2024 to 4,531,197 in January 2025. Here’s the breakdown:

• Communication Index: 822,299
• Community Index: 1,911,644

3. Kim Nam Gil

Actor Kim Nam Gil, who successfully reprises his role as the hot-tempered Catholic priest Kim Hae Il in “The Fiery Priest Season 2,” dropped to third place. Despite falling in rank, his brand value impressively increased from 3,121,696 in December 2024 to 4,418,303 in January 2025. Here is the breakdown:
