On February 2, Ten Asia exclusively reported that Shin Hye Sun was in talks for new drama, Welcome to Samdalri. At the same time, E-Daily Star also pitched in, claiming Ji Chang Wook was cast in the same new drama. According to both reports, Welcome to Samdalri is a new project scheduled to air this year.
WELCOME TO SAMDALRI: Another Healing Romance Masterpiece!
Written by Kwon Hye Joo of Go Back Couple and Hi, Bye Mama, Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun possible new drama would reportedly be another healing masterpiece to calm the viewers’ minds this year.
Welcome to Samdalri new healing drama depicts the story of a glorious protagonist who experienced the most drastic turns in life. As the main character rises magnificently like a dragon ascending to heaven, a sudden life twist causes the downfall that brings the dragon to return to his original stream to catch its breath.
After losing everything, the main character must take a step back from all the glory to regain themselves and catch their breath.
If she accepts the offer, genius actress Shin Hye Sun will reportedly take on the main role, Sam Dal. All her life, Sam Dal has been pursuing the love of her life. She constantly dates to find the perfect man and finally meets her other half.
But not everything comes her way. One day having to overcome yet another breakup, Sam Dal decides to return to her hometown. Sam Dal is portrayed as a fragile character on the outside but possesses immense strength nobody has ever imagined.
At the same time, brilliant actor Ji Chang Wook will be taking the role of Cho Yong Pil. Unfortunately, no further information is available about the character. All we know so far today is that Cho Yong Pil is a member of the Meteorological Administration Office in Mado. And interestingly, people consider him the slowest-witted person in the office.

“We’re still preparing for Wax Doll drama for our next project as a priority. Nothing has been decided yet, so it’s premature to make any statement about the offer.
Currently, we are still in discussion regarding Shin Hye Sun’s appearance in Welcome to Samdalri. It is simply a progress, and no official decision is ready just yet.”
