Ju Ji Hoon to Make Romance Comeback After 18 Years Since “Princess Hours”
If you’ve been an avid fan of Ju Ji Hoon since his “Princess Hours” debut and wonder when in the world he would return to his charming romance genre era, then no more worries. After 18 years of adventuring to a multitude of intense projects like “Kingdom” and “Jirisan”, our charming Prince Lee Shin of “Princess Hours” will soon return to the romance genre in a new Korean drama.
On January 24, YTN exclusively reported that actor Ju Ji Hoon had been considering to appear in tvN’s new Korean romance drama. According to the report, the new Korean drama will be titled “Love on a Single Tree Bridge” (tentative name), and Ju Ji Hoon will reportedly become the male lead.
What’s more exciting is that this new drama is a masterpiece by writer Im Ye Jin, who previously created “Love in the Moonlight”. Not only that, but director Park Joon Hwa would be the one leading the new drama. The director previously showcased an impressive quality directing in “Alchemy of Souls” series and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”.
“Love on a Single Tree Bridge” New Korean Drama: Storyline and Character
So, what is the new Korean drama about and what is Ju Ji Hoon’s role this time?
According to YTN’s exclusive report, “Love on a Single Tree Bridge” tells the story of a reunion romance between two long-lost lovers. A young man and woman were so passionately in love during their school days. However, their love must painfully end due to the tragic twist of fate as well as disputes and opposition from their families.
And 15 years later, the two lovebirds eventually meet again.
In this new Korean drama, actor Ju Ji Hoon will take on the role of Seok Ji Won, the executive director of Seokdong Construction. In the story, Seok Ji Won fell in love with his classmate, Yoon Ji Won, during the summer when he was eighteen. Unfortunately, the two must break up due to a terrible misunderstanding at the time.
As years passed, Seok Ji Won finds himself reunited with Yoon Ji Won after he gets appointed as the chairman of Dokmok High School.
Indeed Ju Ji Hoon is currently working on various exciting projects, including “Climax”, “Shop of the Lamp,” and“Severe Trauma Center – Golden Hour”. However, the actor has long expressed his desire to return to the romance genre. He especially noted that he hasn’t appeared in romance dramas since his debut in MBC’s “Princess Hours”. And while he previously acted in “Hyena” with actress Kim Hye Soo, this drama did not exactly fall into the romance genre.
Therefore, if Ju Ji Hoon accepts this offer, it means that he will soon fulfill his desire after 18 years of romance hiatus.
