TAXI DRIVER 2 Achieves Highest Rating for Season Finale

SBS Taxi Driver Kdrama ended Season 2 with one of the most noteworthy achievements!

Previously, Taxi Driver Kdrama received honorary treatment from the production team with stunning cameo surprises from multiple prominent Korean drama characters.

Namgoong Min, Kim So Yeon, and even Moon Chae Won, who previously starred in SBS Friday – Saturday dramas, made crucial appearances, portraying their fascinating Kdrama characters. This appearance brought massive excitement that the viewers called this final episode the ‘SBS Friday-Saturday Universe’.

The magnificent storyline, incredible acting and cinematography, topped with the appearance of these star-studded cameos, have brought Taxi Driver 2 to reach its highest rating for its season finale.

On April 16, JoyNews24 reported that episode 16 of Taxi Driver 2 Kdrama had reached over 21% of average viewership ratings. The Korean drama had way surpassed its competitors, including KBS2TV’s The Real Has Come (18.3%) and tvN’s Pandora: Beneath the Paradise (3.2%).

Not only that, even after its previous controversial publicity stunts, mocking Taxi Driver 2, MBC’s Joseon Attorney could not even reach this outstanding series even the slightest. Instead, Joseon Attorney simply ended its latest episode with a mere 2.2% average viewership ratings.

On top of everything, Taxi Driver 2 Kdrama has also marked its name in history as the highest rating of any miniseries in 2023.

Season 3 CONFIRMED: Cast and Release Date?

Following its immense success, Taxi Driver production team announced that the Kdrama would return for an upcoming Season 3.

A source from SBS official team revealed to OSEN on April 16 that they had confirmed the upcoming Season 3 production of Taxi Driver Kdrama. And they are currently discussing more Season 3 details and release date with Taxi Driver writer, director, and all the cast members.

Unfortunately, the officials also stated that it would take quite some time to confirm the complete cast and release date for Taxi Driver Season 3. After all, Season 2 had just ended, and they would need time to meticulously prepare for an upcoming production.

Hopeful Return of the Old Gang

One thing is for sure though, if there are no scheduling or immediate issues, actor Lee Je Hoon will definitely reprise his role as main character Kim Do Gi. The actor previously stated clearly in multiple interviews that he was expecting more seasons of this amazing Kdrama.

And most importantly, with the confirmation of Taxi Driver Season 3 Kdrama, fans are also hoping for the return of another crucial cast: Esom as Kang Ha Na. Last year, Esom confirmed her inability to take part in Taxi Driver 2 due to a scheduling conflict.
