Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young to Lead New Drama: MANGNAEIN

South Korean brilliant actors Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young will be fully booked and busy this year!

On March 16, JTBC exclusively reported that Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young had both received an offer to star in a new drama, Mangnaein. The Korean media initially stated that King of Expressions Kim Seon Ho had been positively reviewing the offer. After that, more reports revealed that Park Gyu Young had been chosen as Kim Seon Ho’s partner in the new drama.

Both agencies stated that Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young had been positively reviewing the roles. Therefore, if there are no scheduling or other additional issues, it is highly likely that both actors will appear in the drama together.

What is the New Drama About?

Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young new drama announced its Korean working title: Mangnaein (망내인).

In literal translations, the new drama has various meanings, including “Into the Dead”, “The Man of the Dead”, and “Desperate Man”. These literal translations may seem random, but all of them basically describe what the drama is about precisely.

According to various reports, Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young new drama will tell the story of a woman trying to come to terms with her grief. After her younger brother committed suicide and passed away, the woman struggled and couldn’t accept his death. Therefore, she decided to dig into her younger brother’s case. And during this time, she unexpectedly experienced a fateful encounter with a mysterious man.

While no official confirmation is available yet, Park Gyu Young will likely take on the role of the woman digging into the case. At the same time, Kim Seon Ho will most likely become the mysterious man.

Kim Seon Ho Carefully Choosing His Next Project: Declining Appearance in HASH’S SHINRU

Finally, after his official return to the South Korean entertainment industry, actor Kim Seon Ho is carefully choosing his upcoming projects. Previously, the actor almost starred in a webtoon-adapted drama, Hash’s Shinru. However, Kim Seon Ho ended up declining the offer after careful consideration and discussion with the production team.

OSEN reported on March 16 that SALT Entertainment confirmed Kim Seon Ho’s cancelation to appear in Hash’s Shinru.

“We had discussed actor Kim Seon Ho’s appearance in ‘Hash’s Sinru’ but agreed with the production team not to appear in the drama.”

While no official reason was available from both party, Kim Seon Ho has begun filming his upcoming movie, Tyrant, with Cha Seung Won and Kim Kang Woo, starting on January 2. Therefore, it is possible that his schedule is packed with the movie’s production and promotion activities.

A Promising Performance with Park Gyu Young

That is why instead of choosing Hash’s Shinru, Kim Seon Ho decided to opt for the new drama with Park Gyu Young. After all, Mangnaein has confirmed to be a 6-episode mini-series scheduled to broadcast on various OTT platforms. And directors Kim Ji Woon and Park Bo Ram will be the ones leading the project.

Meanwhile, actress Park Gyu Young is also fully booked this year with various projects, including a promising reunion in a new drama with Cha Eun Woo, A Good Day to be A Dog.
