Popular actors Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang might team up in a new rom-com drama written by Mr. Queen co-writer, MY DEMON.
Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang to Possibly Lead New Rom-Com Drama MY DEMON
On January 18, Korean news outlet JTBC exclusively reported that Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang had been cast in a new heart-fluttering rom-com drama, My Demon (literal title).
The stars’ agencies have responded to the report. Namoo Actors, the agency of Song Kang, confirmed that My Demon is one of the proposed works from which the actor has received an offer. Meanwhile, Awesome ENT, the agency of Kim Yoo Jung, also confirmed the project offer, and the actress is currently reviewing it.
MY DEMON Korean Drama
The upcoming Korean drama My Demon is not an ordinary romance drama; it is a heart-fluttering drama that combines romance with comedy and thriller. Cho Ah Il, the co-writer of tvN hit drama series Mr. Queen, wrote the script.
My Demon centers on the love story between a conglomerate heiress and the species superior of a demon who loses his power overnight after saving her. To regain his power, he should work with her. Their chemistry is expected to captivate the audiences as they work on it together.
Moreover, the anticipation of both stars is already increasing in terms of visual chemistry and unusual pairing. If Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang accept the offer, they will play the lead roles, Do Do Hee and Jung Gu Won, respectively.
Do Do Hee is a conglomerate heiress who has enemies all around her. Despite looking stylish and elegant, she is pretty odd inside. Meanwhile, Jung Gu Won is the species superior of demons, but he loses his confidence when he loses power.
Will Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang Meet in New Drama My Demon?
Last year, Kim Yoo Jung didn’t take any drama projects. Instead, she was focused on her movie project, 20th Century Girl. Her previous drama series was Lovers of the Red Sky in 2021 and as a cameo in One Ordinary Day in 2021. If the actress accepts the drama offer, it will be her comeback project and second drama this year.
As reported earlier, she will appear as a guest role in Netflix’s webtoon-based drama Chicken Nugget. She will appear alongside Jung Ho Yeon of Squid Game. In addition, she is also participating in the stage play Shakespeare in Love, which will run from January 28 to March 26, 2023.
Meanwhile, Song Kang, who will have to enlist this year, has been busy with various projects since last year. His previous drama series was Forecasting Love and Weather with Park Min Young in 2022. Then, he has been working on Season 2 and Season 3 of one of the best 2020 thriller and suspense Kdramas, Sweet Home. In addition, the actor also will have his first Asian fan meeting in February.
