After releasing its first original film, “Shark: The Beginning,” in 2021, TVING will soon premiere its sequel as a six-episode series titled “Shark 2: The Storm.” The story of “Shark” is based on the popular webtoon “Shark” by Woon (story) and Kim Woo Sub (illustration).
The upcoming series marks the first collaboration between director Kim Geon and writer Min Ji, both rookies in the industry. In addition, SLL Co., Ltd handled the production of the drama.

The story follows Cha Woo Sol as he starts a new chapter after prison, striving to rebuild his life as a professional MMA fighter. With discipline and hope, he faces each day for a better future.
But his peace shatters when Hyun Woo Young appears—the ruthless head of the MMA association and a key player in underground martial arts. To fulfill his ambitions, Young recruits fighters for his brutal, rule-less league: an arena of pure violence and domination.
Now, Woo Sol must fight not just for survival but to protect everyone he cares about.
The upcoming action Korean drama will deliver intense action and explore its main character’s human side, evolution, and unwavering determination.
“Shark 2: The Storm” Cast and Characters

Kim Min Seok will reprise his role as Cha Woo Sol. The upcoming series will continue to follow his story as he proves that he can survive and overcome the obstacles and hardships in life by fighting beyond his limits. He is now ready to pursue his dream as a professional fighter in the MMA ring.
Lee Hyun Wook, known for his role as a King in “The Queen Who Crowns,” made a special appearance as Hyun Woo Young in the movie “Shark: The Beginning.” He now reprises his role and becomes the strong opponent for Cha Woo Sol. Woo Young is the head of the MMA association and the man behind the illegal fighting club. After fighting his way to the top in relentless combat, he now sets Woo Sol as his opponent and prey in his vicious games.
Bae Myung Jin returns as Lee Won Joon, Lee Jung Hyun reprises Han Sung Yong, and Park Jin joins as Jang Sang Hyeop. Together, they give unwavering support to Cha Woo Sol, showing their solid friendship.
“Shark 2: The Storm” will also see Wi Ha Joon from “Squid Game” as Jung Do Hyeon. He is a former MMA champion imprisoned for murder after losing his family to robbers. He transforms the once-weak Cha Woo Sol by recognizing and nurturing his potential. Their mentor-mentee relationship builds on deep trust and a brotherly bond.
In addition to Wi Ha Joon, Jung Da Eun will appear as the kickboxing master Lee Yeon Jin. She will join Cha Woo Sol’s team, adding excitement to the story.
