The story follows Kim Dok Ja, an ordinary office worker who, for over a decade, has been the sole reader of Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse,” an obscure yet captivating novel. Unexpectedly, the fictional world becomes reality on the story’s final day, creating apocalyptic chaos. As the only person who knows how the world will end, he must team up with the novel’s protagonist, Yoo Jong Hyuk, and his allies to survive and change the story’s ending.
2. “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” Anime
Apart from the live-action adaptation, Crunchyroll announced at the 2024 Anime Expo that Aniplex and Crunchyroll will work together to create a new anime adaptation of the popular “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” web novel. - Chae Soo Bin as Yoo Sang Ah. She is Kim Dok Ja’s co-worker, who was with him when the novel’s fantasy world began to unfold. The strange event makes her question, “Do you have to fight like this every day?”
- Shin Seung Ho as Lee Hyun Sung. An original character in the novel, a soldier who becomes Dok Ja’s peer and shield. The poster highlights his query, “Dok Ja, how do you know all this?”
- Nana as Jung Hee Won. One of the strongest characters in the story and joins Kim Dokja in fighting for justice. Her statement on the poster, “There is still one left—one who gave up on being human,” raising the question of who she’s talking about.
- Jisoo as Lee Ji Hye. A high school student who is an original character in the novel, mentored by Yoo Joong Hyuk. She has a motto, “In thisworld , only the strong survive.”
- Kwon Eun Seong as Lee Gil Young. He is a little boy with an extraordinary talent for communicating with insects and joins Kim Dok Ja’s journey. His poster says, “I also want to fight with the monsters.”
