The coronavirus outbreak hits many countries in the world and has slammed the global economy. Many KPop idols have donated millions of won to fight the Covid-19 pandemic after it hits South Korea in the past few months.
South Korea is one of the countries that have the highest number of cases in the world. The first case was found in late January 2020. The main outbreak happened in smaller cities or towns, rather than in big cities.
Quoted from the latest update of Worldometers as of March 23, South Korea has 8,961 cases with 3,166 recovered, 5,684 infected patients, and 111 death cases.
Many countries are adopting a lockdown policy to protect its citizens and reduce the risk of exposure. South Korea only applied this policy on some facilities and apartment complex building where it had the most significant cases. Instead, the South Korean government imposed a large-scale test to 50,000 inhabitants.
The result of its policy is quite surprising. It’s considered a successful method due to a decreasing number of virus spread and its number of cases. One of the strategies that popular and a model to emulate in detecting Covid-19 is drive-thru-clinics.
It’s proven that South Korea’s mass checking and data transparency, which connected to the hospitals, make people confirmed and aware that they can infect others.
Moreover, around 29,000 people are in self-isolation to reduce the risk of exposure to corona outbreaks. Chungha is one of the Kpop idols who put herself in self-quarantine after she returned from Italy last February 24.
