Lee Jae Wook in Talks to Lead New Drama Based on Webtoon “HODL Doctor”
On March 21, an OSEN exclusive report revealed that actor Lee Jae Wook has decided to take the role in the new drama “HODL Doctor.” The drama is an adaptation of a popular webtoon of the same title, which is also known as “Doctor Jonbeo” or “Endurance Doctor.“ Kakao Webtoon launched the webtoon series in February 2022 and is still ongoing.
In response to the casting news, Log Studio, the actor’s agency, stated,
“It is one of the works that has been offered to him.”

The upcoming drama will be the next project of director Lee Myung Woo. His hit works include “The Fiery Priest,” “Backstreet Rookie,” and “Boyhood.”
Additionally, according to the report, the drama is currently in the process of casting and is aiming to air next year.
About “HODL Doctor”
The story follows Do Ji Eui, a plastic surgeon who must work as a public health doctor on a hellish remote island that everyone avoids, Pyeongdongdo. During his stay, he desperately struggles and perseveres while meeting various types of residents and treating a wide range of patients.
Lee Jae Wook is courted to play the main character, Do Ji Eui. If he accepts the role, it will mark his first time portraying a doctor role since his debut. This drama will also possibly be his third upcoming drama after “Last Summer” alongside Choi Seung Eun and “Dear Hongrang“ alongside Jo Bo Ah.
The actor debuted in the popular drama “Memories of the Alhambra” in 2018. He landed his first lead role shortly after his debut in the drama “Search: WWW” in 2019. Further, his popularity rose significantly through his portrayal in tvN hit series “Alchemy of Souls” in 2022.
Moreover, besides getting the first doctor role, the 26-year-old actor, who is preparing to enlist in military service this year, is joining as a regular member for the first time in the variety show “Fresh of the Sea” Season 2.
