Previously, MAMAMOO Hwasa appeared on JTBC entertainment show “Knowing Bros” on September 9, celebrating the 400th episode of the show. MAMAMOO Hwasa then congratulated the show and celebrated its 400th episode by performing her latest song, “I Love My Body”.
While the performance itself was fabulous and impeccable, it was Hwasa’s choice of wardrobe that caused her to face another scandal and controversy.

Ironically, this song has brought another scandal and controversy for Hwasa for sexual profanity. That is because while performing this song, the singer modified “Knowing Bros” iconic school uniform outfits into a bikini bra top.
What’s worse, according to netizens, was that the MAMAMOO maknae then performed various sexy choreography with her dancers, including the ‘split leg’ dance moves.
Criticisms emerged against the singer that performing such moves while wearing the modified school uniform was simply inappropriate. That is because a school uniform is an outfit that students wear. Therefore, it sets a horrible example to the students, especially those who are still underage.
This is not the first time netizens are angry at Korean celebrities who modified school uniform inappropriately.
Previously, controversial YouTuber and celebrity Song Ji Ah (Free Zia) once appeared in “Knowing Bros” while wearing a similarly modified school uniform. At the time, Free Zia faced similar criticism due to the modification. That is because netizens believed she only set bad examples to students and minors.
A Homage to Britney Spears?
Along with the criticism, some fans pointed out that Hwasa was only paying tribute to Britney Spears’ outfit in “Baby One More Time”.
However, it turns out that even Britney Spears faced the same protests from parents that overly-sexualizing the school uniform resulted in bad examples for the students.
MAMAMOO Hwasa Under Police Investigation for Public Indecency
This is not the first time the MAMAMOO maknae faces sexual provocative scandal and controversy. Reports also revealed that MAMAMOO Hwasa was recently under police investigation for her provocative performance at Sungkyungkwan University. The police charged MAMAMOO Hwasa for public indecency for her overly-provocative performance.
Seoul’s Seongdong Police Station officially revealed on September 10 that they had summoned MAMAMOO Hwasa as the defendant last month. They interrogated the singer about her intention behind the performance.
“Hwasa was indeed questioned by the police, and she cooperated fully.”
