Spotify South Korean Music Global Impact 2024 | Multiple sources

Spotify unveiled its Global Impact List in South Korea, recognizing the local artist tracks that made the most global impact in the first half of 2024. The South Korean Music Global Impact List for the first half of 2024 features the 30 most streamed tracks by South Korean artists released between January 1 and June 30, excluding streams from South Korea.

“The 2024 South Korean Music Global Impact List highlights the recent achievements and current status of Korean music on the global stage. Spotify remains committed to supporting Korean music in reaching greater heights globally by connecting local artists with listeners around the world.”

The Most Streamed Track Outside of Korea on Spotify

The Spotify most streamed track outside of South Korea was “Magnetic“ by ILLIT. This was followed by BTS V with “FRI(END)S” at #2 and LE SSERAFIM with “Smart” and “EASY” at #3 and #4, respectively. Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER ranked #5 with “SHEESH“.

In particular, BTS members dominated the list with six tracks in total. Alongside V’s solo track, Jung Kook‘s “Never Let Go” ranked #9, j-hope‘s “NEURON (with Gaeko & YOON MIRAE)” and “i wonder… (with Jung Kook of BTS)” landed at #11 and #27, respectively, while RM‘s “Come back to me” and “LOST!” were at #19 and #22. In addition, LE SSERAFIM featured three songs on the list, including MAX’s “STUPID IN LOVE (feat. HUH YUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM)“ (#10). BABYMONSTER, aespa, (G)I-DLE, and TWICE each contributed two songs to the list.

Meanwhile, Spotify recently released key South Korean streaming data as part of its Loud & Clear 2024 report, offering transparency into the global music streaming industry. In 2023 alone, South Korean artists were discovered by first-time listeners close to 2.2 billion times on Spotify, with over 3,600 Korean artists added to Spotify editorial playlists. Last year, royalties generated by South Korean artists from Spotify exceeded KRW 180 billion (USD 138 million) last year.
