The new Korean drama “The First Night With the Duke” (“남주의 첫날밤을 가져버렸다”), also known as “Taking the Male Lead’s First Night,” is adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name by Hwang Do Tol.
The story unfolds when an ordinary college student, “K,” experiences a bizarre event and wakes up as the supporting character in her favorite romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek. Unexpectedly, she entangled with the obsessive male lead, Yi Beon.

“The First Night With the Duke” Cast
Idol-actress Seohyun from Girls’ Generation takes the female lead role in the drama and plays two characters, college student “K” and the novel’s minor role, Cha Sun Caek. “K” is an ordinary college girl who enters the romance novel world and possesses the supporting character, Cha Sun Caek.
Ok Taecyeon of 2PM portrays the drama’s male lead, Yi Beon, a royal family member. When “K” possesses Cha Sun Chaek, she accidentally spends a night with him.
The upcoming drama will also star Kwon Han Sol as Cho Eun Ae, Seo Bum June as Jung Su Gyeom, and Ji Hye Won as Do Hwa Seon.

On its first release poster, Yi Beon (Ok Taecyeon) and Cha Sun Chaek (Seohyun) dressed in traditional attire. They embrace each other under the breathtaking night sky filled with cherry blossom petals. Yi Beon smiles, holding Cha Sun Chaek’s waist and gazing into her eyes, while she returns his embrace with wide eyes and a shocked expression.
This heart-pounding scene heightens anticipation for their romance. Can their love story rewrite the written ending?

The new romance fantasy K-drama “The First Night With the Duke,” starring Taecyeon and Seohyun, is set for release on June 11 at 9.50 p.m. KST. The 12-episode drama will air every Wednesday and Thursday on KBS2. Currently, OTT availability remains unconfirmed.
