Condolence Wreath Rally: NewJeans Fans Support CEO Min Heejin Amid HYBE x ADOR Drama Controversy

The condolence flower wreath has repeatedly gained upgrades in the Kpop communities. After previously making an appearance thanks to BTS fans, ARMY, condolence flower wreath make an unexpected rally once again in front of the HYBE building. And this time, it’s thanks to NewJeans fans, Bunnies.

On July 31, photos went viral in Korean online communities, showing a lineup of condolence wreath rallying in front of the HYBE company building. Apparently, the condolence flower wreath was a special surprise present from fans of NewJeans to express their immense support for ADOR CEO Min Heejin in her drama controversy with HYBE.

  • HYBE’s business operations are like declaring a death sentence
  • Only focused on getting bigger and making money. No. 1 in the K-pop industry that has lost its humanity
  • PR trying to kill the subsidiary, and legal response neglecting the artist: HYBE, end the multi-label system!
  • The floating cloud that HYBE wants to catch, the dark clouds that spread out in front of it.
  • Lost protection of privacy, Lost human rights!
  • HYBE is selling its shame away. Congratulations on being the #1 most incompetent agency!
  • HYBE, stop killing NewJeans, stop killing ADOR!
  • NewJeans never die, Bunnies never give up!

Multiple reports also revealed that NewJeans fans arranged this condolence wreath after organizing them using the Korean online community, DC Inside. The community was basically full of loyal supporters who have been cheering for CEO Min Heejin since the first day the drama controversy started between ADOR and HYBE.

HYBE Condolence Wreath Controversy: NewJeans Fans Support for ADOR on LE SSERAFIM Chaewon Birthday?

According to multiple reports, these flower wreaths started appearing in front of the company building on July 30. And the plan was to make them stay there for three days until August 1.

This has become a massive controversy among fans because August 1 actually coincides with the birthday of Chaewon, leader of LE SSERAFIM, one of the groups reportedly dragged in the drama controversy between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Heejin.

As a result, fans of LE SSERAFIM got furious, making the condolence wreath against HYBE a massive issue in the Kpop community. And yet, this only resulted in more backlash from the Korean public against LE SSERAFIM fans.

  • “No, but the protest was against the company because they were basically trying to shut down the group. That’s why they sent the wreaths. So, why should the other fandom stop their protest just because it’s their favorite idol’s birthday? Are they really causing a fuss over a birthday celebration?”
  • “These LE SSERAFIM fans are being overly sensitive. It’s so frustrating.”
  • “HYBE is just pathetic.”
  • “It looks like they tried to stir up trouble on the Kpop panel page but failed, so they wrote a whole article instead. If you have to consider someone’s birthday before you send a protest truck or wreath, you’re being way too dramatic.”
  • “HYBE has 80 artists. How are they supposed to avoid all the different commemorative dates?”
  • “This is the first time I’ve seen a fandom get upset just because a protest date clashed with a birthday. It’s not even their favorite group, so why would they check birthdays before organizing a protest?”
  • “Such overly sensitive fans.”

Necessary or Too Much Drama?

Meanwhile, Korean public send more encouraging support through online communities for NewJeans, their fans, and ADOR CEO Min Heejin. Apparently, it was HYBE that these netizens were completely against.

  • “From now on, whenever I see a negative article about HYBE artists from Dispatch, I’ll just assume it’s because the re-signing didn’t go well, and they’re causing trouble.”
  • “Is HYBE really a major corporation? They don’t even have the basic corporate ethics; it’s disgusting.!”
  • “Stay strong, NewJeans, Min Heejin, and ADOR!”
  • “They chose their caption perfectly, haha!”
  • “I sincerely support NewJeans and ADOR. This is like dealing with a crazy dictator.

Finally, what do you think about this issue? Does sending the condolence wreath for HYBE truly necessary? Or were the NewJeans fans overly dramatic? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
