October 2023 Top Kpop Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute conducted a comprehensive consumer behavior analysis from September 9 to October 9, 2023. To determine the brand reputation index, they extracted 49,593,553 data points from various indices, including participation, media, communication, and community. Compared to last September’s 54,329,852 girl group brand data, it decreased 8.72%.
Furthermore, the institute compiled the October rankings using each group’s brand reputation index. As a result, NewJeans, IVE, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and LE SSERAFIM secured the top five positions, establishing themselves as the leading female Kpop groups of the month.
Top 5 Kpop Girl Groups
1. NewJeans
NewJeans, the rising Kpop group, continued to dominate the girl group brand reputation rankings in October 2023. They secured the top position for the fourth consecutive month. NewJeans achieved impressive scores in the Participation Index (431,460), Media Index (1,076,152), Communication Index (1,672,128), and Community Index (2,482,204). Their remarkable brand reputation index reached 5,661,944. Although this reflected a 26.23% decrease from their September index of 7,674,756, NewJeans’ popularity remained strong.
Notably, NewJeans released a captivating new song called “Gods” on October 3, 2023. With their musical talents and growing fanbase, NewJeans continues to captivate audiences and make their mark in the Kpop industry.
The group’s keywords highlighted their “Billboard” ranking, “GODS,” and “League of Legends Worlds” participation. Notably, terms like “selected,” “record,” and “release” were prominently associated with them. Delving into their positivity-negativity analysis, NewJeans garnered 89.82 percent positive reactions.
2. IVE
IVE, the sensational Kpop group, experienced remarkable success in October 2023. They achieved impressive scores in the Participation Index (309,808), Media Index (854,898), Communication Index (966,875), and Community Index (2,076,281). As a result, IVE soared to a brand reputation index of 4,207,863, reflecting a significant 22.99% increase from their September index of 3,421,212.
Recently, the girl group delighted fans with their captivating two-day “Show What I Have” concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on October 7 and 8. Furthermore, they created a buzz with the release of their highly anticipated EP, “I’ve Mine,” on October 13. 3. BLACKPINK
In October 2023, BLACKPINK, the globally renowned girl group, gained headline attention. Despite their exceptional scores in the Participation Index (473,892), Media Index (545,403), Communication Index (1,007,108), and Community Index (1,648,022), BLACKPINK experienced a slight decline in their brand reputation index. The index for October stood at 3,674,425, marking a 17.90% decrease from September’s impressive 4,475,289.
However, BLACKPINK successfully concluded their world tour, creating unforgettable moments for 2.11 million fans worldwide. Nevertheless, amid their triumphs, rumors about three members not renewing their contracts with YG created a buzz among fans and the media.
4. TWICE
In October 2023, the Kpop girl group TWICE achieved impressive scores in the Participation Index (88,672), Media Index (691,751), Communication Index (401,397), and Community Index (1,650,612). However, there was a slight 0.32% decrease in their brand reputation index compared to September. This month, the group’s brand reputation index stood at 2,832,432, while September’s was 2,841,560.
TWICE is currently on their 5th world tour, titled “Ready To Be,” until February 2024. They are also excitedly preparing to release their highly anticipated 12th mini-album, which is also named “Ready To Be.” This EP marks their second album since renewing contracts with JYP Entertainment. However, their brand reputation index experienced a significant decline, falling by 19.30% compared to September. In October, the index reached 2,687,158, while September’s was 3,329,951.
LE SSERAFIM has become the newest brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. Furthermore, they are set to make a thrilling comeback this month with their English language single, titled “Perfect Night.”
