Storyline
The upcoming romantic comedy-drama Oh! Young Shim is a new Korean drama based on a popular comic book and television cartoon in South Korea.
Oh! Young Shim Korean drama follows the story of two childhood friends, Young Shim and Wang Kyung Tae (Mark Wang). After 20 years of separation, they finally meet again as adults.
Oh Young Shim is a producing director. She is known as the “early ending icon” in the entertainment department. Their shows are often subject to early cancellation. Amid a crisis, she creates a pilot romance variety show.
Surprisingly, she meets Wang Kyung Tae (Mark Wang). He is the CEO of a well-known startup company who has been cast for her show. He turns out to be Wang Kyung Tae, the boy she had known since childhood and who pursued her for a long time.
Main Cast & Characters
Song Ha Yoon plays the role of the optimistic and persistent Oh Young Shim in her 30s. She has been working as a production director (PD) of variety shows for eight years. She accepted the job to bring people joy, inspired by her father’s cartoon “Young Shim.” However, despite her immense passion for her work, she is not achieving the desired outcome.
Super Junior’s Lee Donghae plays the role of Wang Kyung Tae (Mark Wang). He is the CEO of the successful startup company Kingvely. Wang Kyung Tae, who used to be a crybaby and followed Oh Young Shim all the time (despite all her teasing), has grown into a cold-looking perfectionist.
Lee Min Jae plays the role of Lee Chae Dong, Oh Young Shim’s junior colleague who has a secret crush on her. And Jung Woo Yeon plays the role of Gu Wol Sook, a beauty YouTuber who has been Oh Young Shim’s best friend since childhood.
OH! YOUNG SHIM Korean Drama Release Date, Teaser Poster & Trailer
Oh! Young Shim Korean drama is set to release on April 15 at 10 PM (KST) on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, and ENA.
The teaser poster for the Korean drama Oh! Young Shim shows Song Ha Yoon and Lee Dong Hae as well as the characters Young Shim and Kyung Tae in animated form. The resemblance between the actors and their animated characters gives a sense of nostalgia.
In addition, the tagline “You, who reappeared after 20 years!” resonates with those who grew up watching the Youngshim TV animation series. It has also increased the anticipation for the forthcoming live-action drama.
Moreover, the show also has released an exciting video trailer. The 30-second trailer for Oh! Young Shim begins with the familiar opening music from the Youngshim TV animation series. Then the character Young Shim asking, “Do you know Oh Young Shim?”
