REBORN RICH Korean Drama Starring Song Joong Ki Soars to Highest Ratings in 14 Episodes
On December 18, Nielsen Korea reported via Xports News that the ratings of the REBORN RICH Korean drama starring Song Joong Ki, had reached their highest peak.
According to the report, during its Episode 13, the REBORN RICH Korean drama starring Song Joong Ki managed to soar to its highest number of 22.5% average nationwide. The JTBC weekend drama had raised the number by 2.7% higher than its previous average ratings. And not only that, with this new record, the fantasy drama has attracted even more viewers.
Previously, the REBORN RICH Korean drama starring Song Joong Ki began its first episode with an impressive 6% rating. Since then, the number continued to rise to 21.1% on Episode 11. While anything above 20% ratings is already considered a dream achievement, Song Joong Ki’s drama managed to march forward with its ultimate charm, bringing another turning point of 22.5% average viewership ratings.
Then, on December 19, Nielsen Korea updated that the JTBC drama rose once again with even higher viewership ratings of 24.9%.
At this point, nobody can expect how far the drama would go.
All Due to This Unexpected Reason
Despite all the disrespectful issues, various complaints, and controversies, REBORN RICH Korean drama starring Song Joong Ki ratings continue to rise even higher in every episode.
In Episode 13 specifically, the ratings had reached an impressive number due to a reason you may never expect before: an overly tragic plot twist.
According to Korean media, during Episode 13, viewers were deeply immersed in the unforeseen turn of events. First of all, the death of the Sunyang family head and chairman, Jin Yang Cheol (played by Lee Sung Min) was a sudden change that viewers had never expected before. It was especially knowing that actor Lee Sung Min was one of the top reasons why REBORN RICH gained this much attention and love: because his acting skills and performance were impeccable.
As if the turn of events was not enough, REBORN RICH Korean drama added a more unpredicted plot twist. Following his unforeseen death, Jin Yang Cheol surprisingly left no legacy—nothing at all—to his beloved grandson, Jin Do Joon (played by Song Joong Ki). Considering how close their relationships were, this development caught the viewers by surprise, resulting in the rise of viewership rating into one of the highest points in Korean drama history.
On top of that, Lee Pil Ok (Kim Hyun) came to the rescue and handed over her 17% of Sunyang Life Insurance shares to Jin Do Joon. Then, it was also revealed that Jin Do Joon had also inherited his grandfather’s slush fund in Episode 14.
And this raises even more questions about how the story will unfold.
REBORN RICH, Starring Song Joong Ki, Now Places #2 in Highest Korean Drama Ratings
Finally, with 24.9% average nationwide viewership number, REBORN RICH now places at #2 of the top Korean drama ratings of all time.
The impressive storyline and fantastic performance of its cast have brought REBORN RICH to defeat its predecessor, SKY CASTLE, with the previous highest ratings of 23.78%.
JTBC now owns all the top 3 highest-ratings Korean drama of all time with THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED at #1 with 28.3% and SKY CASTLE with 23.78% at #3.
