Idol-actor Rowoon, known for his roles in “Extraordinary You” and “The King’s Affection“, is reportedly considering joining the cast of the new Korean historical drama “Takryu”, also known as “Murky Water.”
SF9’s Rowoon Receives an Offer to Lead in A New Korean Historical Drama TAKRYU
Actor Rowoon has been offered the lead role in an upcoming drama titled “Takryu” (romanized title), as reported by Korean news outlet Newsen on June 28. Alongside Rowoon, Park Seo Ham and Shin Ye Eun are also offered to star in this upcoming K-Drama.
In response to the report, FNC Entertainment, Rowoon’s agency, confirmed that he is currently reviewing the offer alongside other projects.
“He is currently reviewing the offer for Takryu among other projects.”

“Takryu” (also known as Turbid Rivers or The Muddy Stream or Murky Water) will narrate the tale of a man who embarks on an epic journey, starting as a gangster at Han River’s Mapo Port during the Joseon Dynasty. Through sheer determination, he rises to become a legendary figure within the bustling logistics and economic center of the era.
The talented writer Chun Sung Il scripted the highly anticipated historical drama. His successful hits namely “The Slave Hunters,” “The Pirates,” “The Pirates 2: The Last Royal Treasure,” “All Of Us Are Dead” Season 1 and Season 2, and more.
The upcoming drama will be Chun Sung Il’s second venture into the historical genre. His first historical drama was the legendary historical drama, “The Slave Hunters,” starring Jang Hyuk and Lee Da Hae.
Furthermore, the upcoming drama will be helmed by the talented director Choo Chang Min. He was the man behind the renowned Korean historical drama series “Masquerade” in 2012.
