May 31, 2021, was SHINee Taemin enlistment date for his mandatory military service, shortly after the release of Advice. Even though he previously asked for a private enlistment, apparently, fans just didn’t have the heart sending off SHINee baby maknae alone on his own.

Big Crowd of Fans on SHINee Taemin Enlistment
SHINee Taemin enlistment is the last of SHINee’s mandatory military services. SHINee’s older members, Onew, Key, and Minho, have already completed their enlistment in 2018 and 2019 and were discharged in 2020.
Previously, SM Entertainment stated that SHINee Taemin wanted to depart for his military enlistment privately. Reports also mentioned that Taemin’s enlistment time and location would be confidential to respect the decision from the SHINee baby maknae himself and the ongoing pandemic.
However, not long after 2 PM KST on May 31, various media started circulating pictures of him with bodyguards and a big crowd of fans.
SHINee Taemin entered the Korea Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, and will serve in the military band after receiving basic military training.
How did taemin’s enlistment location and time become public knowledge? SM literally said he wanted privacy???? I think among sm idols, his is the only enlistment where his privacy is violated (someone pls correct me of i’m wrong)…. and in a pandemic no less!!

Supports from the Hyungs for the SHINee Baby Maknae
On SHINee Taemin enlistment date, his hyungs uploaded posts on Instagram to send him off and cheer for their baby maknae.
Additionally, SHINee Key posted a photo of SHINee members surrounding Taemin, wearing a beanie over his shaved head. SHINee Key said in his post, “Return safely.”
At the same time, his other hyung, SHINee Minho, uploaded a photo of himself with Taemin. The photo was taken inside the car on the way to the military training center. In addition to the picture, Minho said on his Instagram post, “I’m always on your side,” in English, and “Taemin, return safely and in good health. I’m always on your side. I support you and love you.”
