Lee Hae Sook is the only woman in her 80s in heaven. Unlike other residents in heaven, she keeps her age and appearance in heaven as she was when she died. Ko Nak Joon’s compliment on her appearance before he died inspired her decision to keep her look in heaven.
To her surprise, when she meets her husband, Ko Nak Joon, he has chosen to appear as he did in his 30s, leaving them both in shock and awkward silence.

Kim Hye Ja as Lee Hae Sook
Veteran actress Kim Hye Ja portrays Lee Hae Sook. Director Kim Suk Yoon, who previously worked with the actress in “I Live in Cheongdam-dong” in 2011 and “The Light in Your Eyes” in 2019, created the project with the actress in mind. He also praised her for successfully delivering an outstanding comedic performance with ease.
Son Suk Ku as Ko Nak Joon
Prominent actor Son Suk Ku plays Ko Nak Joon, Lee Hae Sook’s husband. The drama marks his comeback to the rom-com genre since his 2018 drama “Matrimonial Chaos,” where he starred alongside Bae Doo Na, Lee El, and Cha Tae Hyun in 2018.
Son Suk Ku accepted this role in “Heavenly Ever After” because he admires Kim Hye Jya. He shared that whenever he watches her, he often thinks she is the essence of acting itself. He also noted the veteran actress that she never rushes, even during rehearsal.
Han Ji Min as So Mi
Han Ji Min plays a mysterious character named So Mi. She is a mysterious woman who appears suddenly in front of Ko Nak Joon and Lee Hae Sook. This drama series marks Han Ji Min and Kim Hye Ja’s reunion after six years since “The Light in Your Eyes.”
Lee Jung Eun as Lee Young Ae
Lee Jung Eun portrays Lee Young Ae, Lee Hae Sook’s loyal right-hand successor, when she was a moneylender from the Ilso gang. For her, Hae Sook was her parent and mentor.

Veteran actor Chun Ho Jin plays the warm and charismatic Heaven Support director. As an authoritative figure who pays attention to detail, he immediately marks Hae Sook through CCTV as someone to watch.
This drama marks his reunion with the director after their previous work in “My Liberation Notes.” This drama is also his reunion with the writer Kim Soo Jin after “Beyond Evil,” and Kim Hye Ja after “Countries Diaries.”
Ryu Deok Hwan as A Young Pastor
Ryu Deok Hwan plays a young pastor of Heaven’s Church who is longing for new church members.
