Bae Suzy “Anna” Korean Drama Controversy Continues!
The controversy revolving around Bae Suzy “Anna” Korean drama is NOT yet over! After Coupang Play released their defense argument regarding their forcible change in “Anna” Korean drama, 6 MORE people came up and demanded their names removed from the credit list.
On August 4, Korean media reported that 6 more staff members of “Anna” Korean drama chimed in their support for the controversy. Production staff members Lee Ui Tae, Jung Hee Sung, Lee Jae Wook, Park Beom Joon, and Park Joo Kang stepped up with a statement to support director Lee Joo Young.
According to the staff members, Coupang Play has unilaterally altered the completed work of Bae Suzy “Anna” Korean drama. That is why they demand Coupang Play remove their names from the credits.
“Using our names in a project that was altered without our consent is the highest form of impertinence for the production team.”combined statement from 6 staff members of “Anna”.
The Trust Destroyed
Previously, in addition to director Lee Joo Young plans to sue Coupang Play, the editing director of “Anna”, Kim Jung Hoon, also testified through social media.
Kim Jung Hoon stated that Coupang Play took the files from the production company and made the changes secretly. As a result, neither any staff members nor the creators of Bae Suzy “Anna” drama knew about their actions.
Moreover, Coupang Play previously stated they had requested the changes from director Lee Joo Young. However, Kim Jung Hoon clarified that there were no comments or editing notes from Coupang Play. All Coupang Play made was only a few comments from their employees over half a day. Then, they changed everything without consent from anyone on the production team.
Coupang Play has destroyed their trust.
And that is why Kim Jung Hoon and 6 more staff demand their names removed from the credits as well. They do not want to display their names on a project they didn’t work on.
