Have you been captivated by the charismatic action of Doctor Baek Kang Hyuk? If yes, then we have fantastic news. “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” confirmed to return with not only Season 2, but also Season 3! But what does this mean for the future of Baek Kang Hyuk and his elite trauma team? Here’s everything you need to know.
“The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” Writer Confirmed Season 2 and 3
After a highly successful first season, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” has proven to be a global sensation. According to Netflix’s Tudum, the series racked up 4.7 million viewing hours between January 20 and 26, ranking third in the global (non-English) TV show category just three days after its release. The show also topped South Korea’s TOP 10 Series list and made it to the charts in 26 countries. On January 29, FlixPatrol recorded the show to place it in the #2 of Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows worldwide.

With such overwhelming success, the renewal was truly inevitable! That is why on January 29, the writer of the original web novel, Lee Nak Jun (Hansanleega), confirmed that there will be Season 2 and Season 3 of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”
During an appearance on Doctor Friends, he opened up about the show’s future and revealed that from the very beginning, the drama was created with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind.
“It felt like nothing more than a dream at first.
When I imagined my novel becoming a webtoon and eventually a drama back in 2019, it seemed out of reach. But then, the rights were sold. After a long stretch of inactivity, production finally kicked off in 2023.
If the series performs well, Season 2 will definitely happen. Season 1 hasn’t fully concluded yet, if you want to know what happens next, you can read my webtoon or web novel.
But from the beginning, the drama was planned with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind.”
Lee Nak Jun (Hansanleega).

What to Expect in Season 2 and Season 3?
So, what can we expect from “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” in the upcoming Season 2 and Season 3? While nothing has been officially been available about what kind of stories they bring, it is highly expected that “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” will continue pushing the limits of medical drama storytelling.
For example, do you remember the show’s iconic helicopter scene? Where Baek Kang Hyuk dramatically rappels down while carrying Yang Jae Won? While the writer admitted that while it wasn’t entirely realistic, it was an essential part of the drama’s medical fantasy appeal.
“The director was worried—there’s no real doctor in Korea who would rappel down from a helicopter!
But Baek Kang Hyuk is no ordinary doctor. He has superhuman abilities. He can diagnose patients before test results return, and his physical skills are on another level.”
Lee Nak Jun (Hansanleega).
And this is what we’re talking about. The upcoming seasons of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” will once again raise such impossible but brilliant actions in the alternate reality of Korean medical fields. And they will do so while keeping the emotional depth and character-driven moments.
