The Korean Business Research Institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of brand data for 50 actors involved in current dramas from December 9, 2023, to January 9, 2024. The total data collected amounted to 60,503,507 pieces. This figure marks a 4.52% increase compared to the data collected in December 2023, which amounted to 57,887,666 pieces. 

According to the analysis, the top five most popular Korean drama actors and actresses for December 2023 are Choi Soo Jong, Kim Yoo Jung, Shin Hye Sun, Bae In Hyuk, and Cha Eun Woo from ASTRO.

1. Choi Soo Jong

Choi Soo Jong, the lead actor in the popular historical drama “Korea-Khitan War,” claimed first place with a brand reputation index of 3,497,249. The analysis of the actor’s performance is as follows:

• Media Index: 912,484
• Communication Index: 1,014,843
• Community Index: 1,125,650

Choi Soo Jong, who recently won the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2023 KBS Drama Awards, secured the leading position on this month’s list. A thorough study of his performance through keyword analysis showed that phrases like “Korea-Khitan War,” “acting Daesang,” and “Kang Kam Chan” held a prominent position. Moreover, terms such as “thank,” “confess,” and “congratulate” ranked among the most linked terms.

Furthermore, when analyzing Choi Soo Jong’s brand reputation, the Institute found an impressive 89.41 percent of positive reactions. This demonstrates the substantial admiration and support he has received from the audience.
