On June 11, the Korean Business Research Institute released the latest rankings for the most popular Kpop girl groups of the month. BLACKPINK, (G)I-DLE, NewJeans, aespa, and TWICE emerged as the top five female groups. BLACKPINK Secures No. 1 Position in June 2023 Kpop Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korea Business Research Institute analyzed female group brand big data from multiple girl groups to determine the rankings of the most popular Kpop girl groups for June 2023.
From May 11, 2023, to June 11, 2023, the Institute collected and analyzed female group brand big data to calculate the brand reputation index for girl group brands. This comprehensive index was calculated using a range of factors, including participation, media coverage, communication, and community engagement.
In June 2023, the total big data for girl group brands reached 65,730,391. This marked a 12.68 percent increase compared to big data of 58,335,055 in the previous month.
Based on the analysis, BLACKPINK, (G)I-DLE, NewJeans, aespa, and TWICE claimed the top five spots as the most popular Kpop girl groups for June 2023.
Top 5 Kpop Girl Groups
In June 2023, BLACKPINK maintained their top position on the list, with a brand value of 6,532,714. According to link analysis, terms such as ‘surpass,’ ‘sexy,’ and ‘diagnose’ were strongly associated with BLACKPINK’s popularity.
Moreover, the keyword analysis highlighted ‘Jennie,’ ‘global concert,’ and ‘mobile game’ as the popular keywords. Furthermore, the group received an impressive positive score of 85.07 percent in the positivity-negativity analysis.
Further, (G)I-DLE skyrocketed to No. 2 with a remarkable 52.89 percent increase in brand value, rising from 2,947,565 in May to 4,506,615 in June. Their new mini album, I feel, and the title track Queencard played a crucial role in their rising popularity.
NewJeans managed to maintain their No. 3 position on the girl group rankings. The group’s brand value decreased from 4,823,782 in May to 4,462,729 in June. In addition, they also secured the top spot in this month’s rookie idol rankings.
Meanwhile, aespa climbed to No. 4 this month. Their brand value rose from 3,202,140 in May to an impressive brand value of 4,344,344 in June, reflecting a significant growth of 35 percent. Furthermore, their growing popularity received a substantial boost from the release of their new mini album MY WORLD and soundtrack for the movie Tetris.
Finally, TWICE completed this month’s top five list of the most popular Kpop girl groups. With an impressive 24.87 percent increase in brand value, they rose from 3,168,480 in May to 3,956,497 in June. Their popularity has soared due to remarkable accomplishments. Notably, they became the first-ever Kpop girl group to sell 1 million albums in the United States with their latest mini album, Ready To Be.
