February 2024 Kpop Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings

In February 2024, the Institute examined 76,794,082 data points related to idol group brands between January 15, 2024, and February 15, 2024. This figure marked a slight 0.30% decrease compared to last January’s 77,025,219 data.

Conducting an in-depth consumer behavior analysis, the Institute used the gathered data to create the brand reputation index. This index, based on factors like consumer involvement, media presence, communication, and community interaction, determined the rankings for each Kpop group’s brand reputation.

SEVENTEEN, (G)I-DLE, RIIZE, IVE, and BLACKPINK shone as the top five Kpop idol groups for February 2024. Below, find the list of the 30 most favored Kpop groups from December 2023 to February 2024.

TOP 5 Kpop Idol groups

1. SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN, a male Kpop group with thirteen members, maintained at the top of the list of popular Kpop groups for two consecutive months. The male Kpop group achieved a brand reputation index of 5,915,377 in February, showing a 16.54% increase from January’s index of 5,075,849. Here are the indices they obtained:

• Participation Index: 711,774
• Media Index: 1,041,776
• Communication Index: 1,976,770
• Community Index: 2,185,056

A study by the Institute revealed that popular terms associated with the group included “prove,” “certify,” and “donate.” In the keyword analysis, terms like “Asia Tour,” “Nana Tour,” and “Carat” were identified as the most common keywords for the group. SEVENTEEN also received a positive rate of 91.08% in the positive/negative ratio analysis.

2. (G)I-DLE

The Kpop girl group (G)I-DLE, who recently released a trilling “Revenge” MV, made a big jump to second place this month. Their brand reputation index surged significantly by 110.03%, soaring from 2,700,100 in January to 5,671,073 in February. The group attained the following indices:

• Communication Index: 1,956,261
• Community Index: 2,549,717

3. RIIZE

In an exciting development, the new Kpop male group RIIZE climbed to third place this month, showcasing a remarkable increase in their brand reputation index. Known for their popular song “Love 119,” the group’s index surged from 2,965,936 in January to 4,742,090 in February, marking an impressive 59.89% rise. The groups obtained the following indices:

• Media Index: 957,577
• Communication Index: 1,229,119
• Community Index: 1,677,510

4. IVE

IVE, who returned with their first all-English song, “All Night,” stayed in fourth place this month. Despite a decline in their brand reputation index, the group still held a solid position in the top five. The analysis revealed they attained a brand reputation index of 3,219,634, marking a 19.68% decrease from January’s index of 4,008,299. The group achieved the following indices:

• Media Index: 533,308
• Communication Index: 815,236
• Community Index: 1,475,366

BLACKPINK wrapped up the top five idol groups. Despite focusing on their individual projects, the members maintained their position with a brand reputation index of 2,971,583. This figure represents a decrease of 37.31% from their January index of 4,739,803. This month, they gained the following indices:

• Participation Index: 161,014
• Media Index: 374,730
• Communication Index: 915,940
• Community Index: 1,519,900
