The Korean Business Research Institute has unveiled the July popularity ranking for Kpop idol groups, with the female Kpop group aespa leading the list. Let’s discover female and male idol groups who made waves in the top 50 Kpop idol group brand reputation rankings for July 2024.
July 2024 Top Kpop Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 80,164,793 pieces of idol group brand data from June 18 to July 18, 2024. This marked an 11.92% increase from the previous month’s figure of 71,624,608 idol group data.
The idol group brand reputation analyzed the brand reputation index by integrating the male and female Kpop groups to measure consumer participation, media, communication, and community indices related to idol group brands.
In the July 2024 data analysis, aespa secured the top position, with IVE, BTS, SEVENTEEN, and SHINee rounding out the top five for the month.

1. aespa
Kpop girl group aespa, currently holding their first solo concert “2024 Aespa Live Tour – SYNK: PARALLEL LINE,” clinched the top spot in the July 2024 idol group brand reputation rankings. Notably, the group attained a brand reputation index of 6,197,999. Their brand reputation index reached 6,197,999, showcasing a notable 74.23% surge from June’s index of 3,557,268, as highlighted by the various key indices:
- Participation Index: 256,270
- Media Index: 946,797
- Communication Index: 2,551,355
- Community Index: 2,443,576
Further, in link analysis, the institute found “adorable,” “sensational,” and “addictive” to be the group’s most popular related terms. Meanwhile, in keyword analysis, they found “supernova,” “taste of iron,” and “Billboard” stood out. Additionally, their sentiment ratio analysis recorded a positive ratio of 92.91%.
2. IVE
Kpop girl group IVE, set to stage an encore performance for their inaugural world tour, ‘IVE THE 1ST WORLD TOUR ‘SHOW WHAT I HAVE’ – ENCORE’ at KSPO DOME on August 10, slipped to the second spot in this month’s Kpop idol rankings. The group attained a brand reputation index of 4,598,631 in July. This figure marked an 8.16% increase from June’s brand reputation index of 4,251,825, reflecting the following specific indices:
- Participation Index: 305,564
- Media Index: 622,363
- Communication Index: 1,564,771
- Community Index: 2,105,933
3. BTS
Kpop group BTS, known for delighting fans with fresh content even as most of the members serve in the military, made it to the top five this month. Despite climbing to third place, the group’s brand reputation index dropped by 33.45%, decreasing from 6,669,376 in June to 4,438,723 in July, with the following indices:

- Media index 726,406
- Communication index 1,353,029
- Community index 2,110,269
4. SEVENTEEN
Kpop male group SEVENTEEN, who is gearing up for their upcoming world tour this October, dropped to the fourth position this month. The group achieved a brand reputation index of 4,119,151. This marked a 17.24% decline compared to June’s brand reputation index of 4,977,252, with the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 360,640
- Media Index: 584,185
- Communication Index: 972,648
- Community Index: 2,201,678
5. SHINee
The second-generation Kpop group SHINee, who thrilled fans with their individual activities, soared to fifth place. The group achieved a brand reputation index of 3,143,574. This marked an impressive 47.88% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 2,125,699 in June with the following indexes:

- Communication Index: 966,340
