Furthermore, according to the report, Choi Jin Hyuk had violated the Infectious Disease Prevention Act after being caught at an entertainment bar around 8.20 PM, KST. After all, under level 4 of South Korean COVID-19 social distancing rules, no bar should have been allowed to operate at such time.
“He was caught violating the social distancing guidelines around 8:20 PM, as he was at a bar that should not have been operating at all at the current [level 4] social distancing.”G-Tree Creative.
So, what truly happened?
Invited by an Acquaintance
To explain what had truly happened, Choi Jin Hyuk’s entertainment agency, G-Tree Creative, released a statement.
In the statement, the company detailed that an acquaintance of actor Choi Jin Hyuk had invited him for a meet-up. This acquaintance then took him to the abovementioned bar, which he said could stay open until 10 PM because they were looking for a quiet place to talk.
“Choi Jin Hyuk’s acquaintance took him to a bar that he said could stay open until 10 PM. He ended up at that place because his acquaintance recommended it while they were looking for a quiet place to talk.”G-Tree Creative.
Choi Jin Hyuk Ended Up Being Arrested
Therefore, since Choi Jin Hyuk had been careful during the COVID-19 about drinking in front of the others before 10 PM, the actor agreed without knowing that the bar was actually operating illegally. And that is why it resulted in him being arrested by South Korean police.
“Choi Jin Hyuk had no idea that the bar was open illegally. Therefore, he mistakenly thought that there would be no problem with staying there until 10 PM. However, because it was a bar that was not allowed to be open under the current level of social distancing guidelines, he was caught for violating COVID-19 prevention regulations at about 8:20 PM.”G-Tree Creative.

As an agency, we will also always do everything we can to manage our celebrities.”G-Tree Creative.
“I’m actor Choi Jin Hyuk. First of all, I apologize for causing concern and disappointment to many people due to this incident. On the 6th, I violated the quarantine rules and hanging out with an acquaintance. It’s my fault that I trusted my acquaintance’s words that the bar runs until 10 p.m. and judged it too complacent. I feel heavy and sorry that I have done something unforgivable for any reason and excuse. Above all, everyone is trying to overcome difficult situations together, and it is all the more embarrassing to know that many medical staff are suffering every day. Also, I’m sorry to give a big disappointment to many people who supported me. I will reflect deeply, reflect again, and always look around me and my surroundings so as not to repeat the same mistake again due to ignorance. Once again, I would like to expressing my deep apology.”Choi Jin Hyuk
