All the drama behind aespa members and their distressing health issues are finally revealed!
A few days ago, a post in the Korean online community TheQoo went viral after revealing what happened behind the health issues happened to Karina and the remaining aespa members.
Previously, aespa Karina had sat out some of the aespa performances. According to the agency SM Entertainment, Karina had to skip some of the performances for health reasons.
“Unfortunately, aespa Karina won’t be performing today. She had a health issue after rehearsals. Therefore, following her doctor’s advice, she’s taking the day off to recover.”

Not only Karina but also the remaining 3 members of aespa were involved in distressing health drama. Member Giselle had developed a bruise under her eye that was noticeable until a few days ago. When a fan asked her about it, she explained that she got hurt from a fall.
Meanwhile, aespa Winter also had to take a break from performing due to emergency surgery for a collapsed lung. She underwent surgery in April, and while pneumothorax surgery typically requires up to two months for a full recovery, aespa made a comeback in May and kicked off their world tour in June. Furthermore, the fire incident at M Countdown also affected Winter’s recovery progress.
As for NingNing, she had allegedly showed signs of dehydration and exhaustion toward the end of the promotional activities for “Supernova” and “Armageddon” comeback promotions. Due to these conditions, she had to sit out the K-Wave Concert on June 2 to recover.

According to the community post, it all stems from the unbelievably packed schedule that the members must face during their Japan activities. The post then revealed a part of the schedule that aespa must face, listing all the group activities occurring daily with almost no rest time.
Not only that, but aespa members must also work for their solo activities and personal schedules.
Hence, Korean netizens started to criticize SM Entertainment for overworking aespa members to the point of exhaustion.
