Who is June in Hometown Cha Cha Cha?
In ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha,’ June is a handsome Kpop idol of DOS, a fictional Kpop boy group Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) is fangirling over with Oh Joo Ri (Kim Min Seo).
Oh Joo Ri is a teenage ‘Hacker’ (DOS fandom), and Hye Jin just happened to have treated June (Byun Seong Tae) in her clinic.
Later on, the idol June and his friend were having a meal at Chun Jae’s café, and Joo Ri almost recognized him. However, the fact that a famous Kpop idol being in the café seemed impossible. So she thought that he must be a copycat.

1. An actor or an idol?
Starring June in ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ is Byun Seong Tae, a Korean actor under Urbanworks Entertainment. He was born on March 9, 1998, and is not a real Kpop idol (yet). It is said that Seong Tae wants to focus on his acting career rather than being a Kpop idol.
2. Street-casted by SM Entertainment
Although he said that his dream is not being an idol, he was first street-casted by SM Entertainment and was about to debut with NCT. However, Seong Tae decided to leave SM Entertainment and pursue his acting career with Urbanworks Entertainment.
3. A participant in Produce X 101
However, with his visual and skills, he will definitely gain many fans as a Kpop idol. In his introduction video for the Produce X 101 show, he showed off his cheerleading skill.
4. An athletic actor
Seong Tae has various hobbies, such as watching movies, fishing, bowling, basketball, cheerleading, and taekwondo.
5. Byun Seong Tae debut
‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ is not the first Kdrama of Byun Seong Tae. Previously, he also appeared in web dramas, like ‘Let’s See What They’re Doing,’ ‘I Can See Your MBTI’ and ‘Nevertheless.’ However, Byun Seong Tae made his debut in ‘Late Night Café.’
