Red Carpet and Live Broadcast Cancelation

On November 4, Genie Music announced the cancelation of the red carpet and the live broadcast (press) of the annual event of the Genie Music Awards in 2022. The cancelation was due to mourn for the recent tragedy in Itaewon.

Translation.

“Hello. This is Genie Music.
As the national mourning period continues after the tragic event, Genie Music has decided to hold the award ceremony in a calm and quiet atmosphere in joining the mourning.
We would like to announce to everyone that the award ceremony will be presented on a small scale in order to maintain our commitment to the fans who have been waiting three years for the Genie Music Award to be presented in person. The award ceremony’s live broadcast and the red carpet event have been canceled.
The award ceremony will be recorded and broadcast at a later date. The airing schedule will be announced again.
Thank you for your interest and support for Genie Music Awards. Once again, we ask for your understanding.”

Jun Hyun Moo will host the 2022 Genie Music Awards, and it will take place at Incheon’s Namdong Gymnasium on Tuesday, November 8. Although they will not have a live broadcast of the event, they will air a recording of the award show later.
