SQUID GAME Actor Oh Young Soo Faces Trial After Arrested for Indecent Assault Scandal – A Season 2 Obstacle

That is what’s currently happening to veteran Squid Game actor Oh Young Soo. After previously becoming the first Korean actor who took home a Golden Globes trophy in 2021, Oh Young Soo’s reputation is now in danger as he faces a massive scandal. Squid Game actor Oh Young Soo was reportedly arrested for indecent assault scandal, and is now facing imminent trial.
On November 24, Star News exclusively reported that Squid Game actor Oh Young Soo had been officially charged following his indecent assault scandal. According to the legal community, the prosecution office had formally charged him with indecent assault and handed the Squid Game actor over to trial.
What Happened?
As previously discussed, Squid Game actor Oh Young Soo allegedly touched a woman’s body inappropriately. The incident happened in mid-2017, and the case first appeared in the form of a police complaint in December 2021.
The alleged victim filed the complaint, accusing actor Oh Young Soo of touching her against her will. However, the police dismissed her report at the time.
Still, the woman did not give up and filed an objection. She reported Oh Young Soo to the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office, resulting in a reinvestigation on the Squid Game actor.
During the investigation, the Squid Game actor kept on denying the allegations. He claimed that the report was only a unilateral claim and that what the woman said made no sense. But the prosecution office believed otherwise and arrested Oh Young Soo without detention in November last year after claiming that there was evidence to support the allegations.
Today, 5 years after the incident, the veteran actor will face trial for the charges. Oh Young Soo’s first trial for the case will be on February 3. And all the public’s attention is drawn to what kind of position the veteran actor will take on his first trial.
Actor Oh Young Soo Appearance in SQUID GAME Season 2 – Will It Be a Problem?
Now that the date of Oh Young Soo’s first trial for the scandal has been official, you may wonder what about his appearance in Squid Game Season 2.
Rest assured. Since the veteran actor had denied the charges and his statements were completely opposite from the victim’s, it is unclear whether the allegations were true. Moreover, his name did not appear on the list of KBS’s banned actors this year. So, there’s still hope that it may be a false allegation directed at the actor.
