YG’s next-generation princess, BABYMONSTER, is gearing up for an upcoming return. And yet, unfortunately, the next comeback date of this highly-anticipated comeback of BABYMONSTER has been unexpectedly leaked, causing a roar to both local and international fandom. So, how did the leak happen, and who’s behind everything? And was it truly an accident or merely a part of the company’s marketing strategies? Join us in an extensive discussion below.
BABYMONSTER Next Comeback Date LEAKED!
5th generation promising Kpop group BABYMONSTER has reportedly been preparing its next grand-scale comeback. Previously, the group’s label company, YG Entertainment, confirmed that BABYMONSTER will be releasing its first full album with multiple music videos and fascinating filming locations.
Unfortunately, just as BABYMONSTER is working hard for this next comeback, the release date has reportedly been leaked. And the perpetrator behind this leak is none other than the American giant online store chain Target.
On September 29, various media outlets reported that Target had leaked the next comeback date of BABYMONSTER on its global online store. Following the previous “FOREVER,” YG Entertainment announced that the song was a pre-release for the group’s upcoming full album debut later this year.
Unexpectedly, fans then noticed that an American retail store chain, Target, posted a leak of this full album release. Target suddenly posted an unrecognizable BABYMONSTER album on September 27 among its product listings. The album stated, “BABYMONSTER – 1st Full Album (Drip) Photobook A – Zip Lock (Target Exclusive) CD.”
This leak not only described the official title of BABYMONSTER next comeback album, “Drip,” but also the type of release and versions. What’s worse, this leak also comes with a complete release date: November 1, 2024,and a price of 22.49 USD.
Was It Intentional?
Meanwhile, it was unclear whether November 1 will be the official release date for the physical release only or the full digital versions of BABYMONSTER next comeback.
After all, YG previously announced that the group would drop its first album next month. Therefore, if this leaked comeback date was real, then it is possible that BABYMONSTER will release the MV and digital versions at the end of October 2024.
Still, once fans noticed the sudden listing, they immediately contacted Target regarding the leaked BABYMONSTER comeback date. Then, Target eventually deleted the album from the website.
As of today, YG Entertainment has yet released an official statement regarding this issue. Hence, fans started wondering if this was simply an accidental mistake from Target or whether it is an intentional part of the whole marketing strategy of BABYMONSTER’s label.
What do you think? Was this leak truly an accidental mistake from Target? Or was the US company moving per YG’s request as part of the company’s marketing strategy to increase the hype of BABYMONSTER’s comeback? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
In the meantime, here’s the previous performance video of BABYMONSTER’s latest pre-release, “FOREVER.”
