BTS | BigHit Music.

BTS became the first K-Pop artist to receive grammy nominations for three years in a row and to be nominated in more than one grammy category in any given year. Here’s the detail of BTS’ nominations for Grammy Awards 2023.

“Best Pop Duo/Group Performance”

For the first category, “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” the group was nominated with “My Universe,” a collab with Coldplay. Previously, the group had been nominated in the same category for “Dynamite” in 2020 and “Butter” in 2021.

In the category, there are other nominees such as ABBA with “Don’t Shut Me Down,” Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran with “Bam Bam,” Post Malone and Doja Cat with “I Like You,” and Sam Smith and Kim Petras with “Unholy.”

“My Universe” garnered positive feedback for its partly Korean lyrics composed by BTS members and its enigmatic tune. As a result, the track debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list and spent a long time on major U.S. and British charts.

“Best Music Video”

“Yet to Come,” the lead track from the group’s latest anthology album, “Proof,” was nominated for the “Best Music Video” category. In this category, the group will compete with other nominees such as Adele with “Easy on Me,” Doja Cat with “Woman,” Harry Styles with “As It Was,” Kendrick Lamar with “The Heart Part 5” and Taylor Swift “All Too Well: The Short Film.”

The “Yet to Come” music video tells the story of the group’s nine-year journey. It also has numerous visual connections to the group’s previous music videos from different eras in their career. In just 10 days on YouTube, the music video had received more than 100 million views.

In response to the nominations, the group tweeted its gratitude for the nominations.

We got nominated for ‘Best Music Video’ with ‘Yet To Come’ at the 2023 #GRAMMYs! Thank you @RecordingAcad and always appreciate all your love and support, #BTSARMY!#YetToCome 과 함께 저희가 참여한 곡인 #MyUniverse 도 그래미 후보로 선정되어 영광이고 감사합니다!#BTS #방탄소년단 https://t.co/K2HtUrSKUI

Coldplay’s album, “Music of the Spheres,” has been nominated in the “Album of the Year” category at the 2023 Grammy Awards. The “Album of the Year” category is one of the four major Grammy awards in the general categories, along with the “Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Best New Artist” categories.

BTS is credited as a featured artist in the album, while J-hope, RM, and Suga are credited as songwriters.

According to the new changes to the prize’s eligibility rules released by the Recording Academy last year, artists, featured artists, songwriters, and engineers are eligible to be nominees and recipients. Thus, if Coldplay wins the trophy, BTS and three members of the group — RM, Suga, and J-Hope, who also participated in the song’s writing- will be listed as winners.

Congratulations to BTS!
