On December 7, the Korean Business Research Institute revealed the latest rankings of the most popular Kpop male idol groups for December. According to the results of their analysis, SEVENTEEN, BIGBANG, BTS, Stray Kids, and NCT dominated the top five spots. December 2024 Top Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings
From November 7 to December 7, 2024, the Korean Business Research Institute conducted a consumer behavior analysis using 58,026,385 pieces of Kpop boy group brand data. They measured the boy group brands’ participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to determine each group’s brand reputation index. Compared to the 53,593,145 pieces of brand data collected in November, this figure shows an increase of 8.27 percent.
As a result, Kpop boy groups SEVENTEEN, BIGBANG, BTS, Stray Kids, and NCT dominated the Kpop male idol group brand reputation rankings in December 2024.

TOP 5
1. SEVENTEEN
In December, the male Kpop group SEVENTEEN, who successfully completed the ‘SEVENTEEN [Right Here] World Tour’ in Japan, took the top spot among male Kpop idol groups. The Kpop male idol group achieved a brand reputation index of 6,106,152. Compared to November’s brand reputation index of 4,562,920, this represents an increase of 33.82 percent, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 249,751
- Media Index: 1,419,008
- Communication Index: 1,914,916
- Community Index: 2,522,476
In link analysis, the Institute found that SEVENTEEN’s top related terms included “perform,” “sing along,” and “sold out. Meanwhile, keyword analysis showed that the group’s top keywords were “Carat,” “Billboard,” and “Tokyo Dome Concert. In addition, SEVENTEEN received a positive score of 92.20 percent in the positivity/negativity ratio analysis.
2. BIGBANG
The second-generation Kpop idol group BIGBANG, who recently rocked the 2024 MAMA Awards stage, skyrocketed to second place. The legendary Kpop boy group’s brand reputation index saw a significant increase of 341.34 percent in December. The index jumped from 1,064,193 in November to 4,696,756 in December, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 236,805
- Media Index: 1,380,899
- Communication Index: 1,396,635
- Community Index: 1,682,418
3. BTS
Kpop boy group BTS, whose members RM, Jin, J-hope, and V continuously update their fans with their solo work—Jin with the “Handsome Guys“ variety show, J-hope with his upcoming appearance on the variety show “I Live Alone,” RM with a new single “Around the world in a day” (feat. Moses Sumney), and V with a new single, “White Christmas,” featuring Bing Crosby—fell to third place this month. The seven-member group achieved a brand reputation index that dropped by 16.77 percent, decreasing from 5,447,345 in November to 4,533,725 in December, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 143,508
- Media Index: 1,456,667
- Communication Index: 1,299,304
- Community Index: 1,634,246
4. Stray Kids
Kpop boy group Stray Kids, who will release a special album, SKZ HOP HIP TAPE “合 (HOP)” on December 13, rose to fourth place this month. Stray Kids’ brand reputation index decreased by 2.29 percent, from 2,599,566 in November to 2,540,005 in December, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 105,216
- Media Index: 634,975
- Communication Index: 831,096
- Community Index: 968,717
5. NCT
NCT’s units, who have been making headlines for their recent achievements and upcoming concerts and performances, completed the top five male Kpop groups in December. Unfortunately, their brand reputation index dropped by 27.32 percent from 3,391,698 in November to 2,465,199 in December, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 43,566
- Media Index: 652,104
- Communication Index: 907,329
- Community Index: 862,200
