Han Hyo Joo to Cast in the Upcoming New Korean Movie “Believer 2” on Netflix
The Sequel of Korean Box Office Hit “Believer” in 2018
On June 16, according to Korean news outlet JTBC, Han Hyo Joo has confirmed to star in the upcoming Korean movie “Believer 2.” The forthcoming film is the sequel to “Believer,” which was directed by Lee Hae Young in 2018. The movie attracted 5.2 million moviegoers and became a Korean box office hit in 2018.
The action thriller movie “Believer” featured a list of famous Korean actors like Cho Jin Woong, Ryu Joon Yeol, Kim Joo Hyuk, Kim Sung Ryung, Park Hae Joon, Cha Seung Won, and more.
The film focused on a detective named Won Ho (Cho Jin Woong), who teamed up with a gang member named Rak (Ryu Joon Yeol) to track down the unidentified leader of Asia’s largest drug cartel.
Director Lee Hae Young will no longer direct the “Believer” sequel. However, the sequel movie will be helmed by director Baek Jong Yeol. In addition, the Korean film “Believe 2” will be released on Netflix. And the story will follow Won Ho on his search for Rak, who has gone missing.
Han Hyo Joo’s New Challenge in Korean Movie “Believer 2”
“Believer 2” will be a new challenge for Han Hyo Joo as an actress. According to the report, the actress will experience a significant transformation in her role as “Big Knife” in the upcoming movie “Believer 2.”
“Big Knife” is the key person who knows Mr. Lee’s true nature as the cartel’s mysterious leader, and she will bring danger with her every time she appears, which increases the tension in the movie. Therefore, we can expect to see another powerful acting skill of Han Hyo Joo in the next box office hit, “Believer 2.”
The forthcoming action thriller movie is not Han Hyo Joo’s first action movie. Previously, she worked on many action dramas and films too. She also made her acting debut in Hollywood by joining the American action drama series “Treadstone” in 2019.
Further, her two last projects were also action dramas and action-adventure films. Those are “Happiness” (2021) and “The Pirates 2: The Last Royal Treasure” (2022). To play her role as the Captain of the ship in “The Pirates 2,” she was trained very hard for her character needs.
Furthermore, this movie will be the second project of Han Hyo Joo and director Baek Jong Yeol together. Previously, they worked together in “The Beauty Inside” in 2015.
Cho Jin Woong and Cha Seung Won are two of the prequel’s cast members who have confirmed to join the sequel. Unfortunately, Ryu Jun Yeol, who played the character of Rak, failed to take part in the sequel. However, the production team has chosen a new actor to join the cast. He is the rising star of Oh Seung Hoon and currently starring in KBS’s “Bloody Heart.”

At the end of 2021, Han Hyo Joo made her comeback on the small screen with “Happiness” after five years. Recently, Han Hyo Joo finished filming a new action fantasy Disney+ series, “Moving,” along with Jo In Sung. “Moving” is a webtoon based on drama series with the same name.
